Leading the industry as a recognized entrepreneur, Susan-Ellen Stoddard has maintained her full-service interior design firm in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, since 1998, providing her expertise to both residential and commercial clients throughout New England, New York, Florida and Chicago. In her capacity as the senior designer of her firm, Ms. Stoddard strives to create unique and functional spaces that reflect the needs of her clients, breathing new life into existing projects or designing new residential/commercial spaces.
After earning her undergraduate degree from the New York School of Interior Design, Ms. Stoddard attained a Master of Arts in interior design from Chelsea University England. She also completed postgraduate coursework at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the University of Oxford in England. A dedicated community advocate, Ms. Stoddard has been active on the Design Review Board of Hopkinson, Massachusetts, since 1995. She has also served as the NAWIC Educational Foundation’s national president from 2017 to 2018, as well as the NAWIC Educational Foundation’s national vice president from 2015 to 2016. In her efforts to promote women in the construction field, she served as the National Association of Women in Construction’s Region 14 director from 2010 to 2012.
Apart from her full-time interior design business, Ms. Stoddard has worked in academia for the past four decades. She has served as an adjunct professor at Becker College and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design. The talents of architect Frank Lloyd Wright and 18th century master cabinet maker Alexander Roux have inspired her to design, create and produce innovative interiors. Ms. Stoddard attributes much of her success in the industry to the loyalty of her longtime clients as well as the hard work she has contributed to forge the foundation upon which her company currently stands.
