Shannon Bergman

Shannon R. Bergman, EdD, has established a formidable career in artificial intelligence (AI) and business leadership. She has been the owner and chief executive officer of UYBL LLC in Fort Mohave, Arizona, since 2023. In these roles, she identifies potential candidates for AI applications, provides demonstrations of the tool’s capabilities, and illustrates how it can enhance business operations without displacing jobs. Her passion for AI is driven by a desire to improve work-life balance and increase profitability for small businesses. She has developed a tool that requires minimal input from clients to identify problems, propose solutions, and assist in creating necessary materials to address these issues.

Dr. Bergman began her career as a satellite technician in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1986, an experience that laid the foundation for her roles in technology and management. She served as director of global technical operations for emerging services at Webex from 2001 to 2004 before co-owning and serving as vice president of SFO Representatives Inc. until 2021. During this period, she also held various senior management positions at World Wide Technology, including as a program manager, a unified communications program manager, and a senior manager of production services.

Beyond her primary roles, Dr. Bergman has dedicated time to various civic organizations and committees. She served as a planning commissioner for the city of San Carlos for six years, where she chaired the commission and participated in the Residential Design Review Committee and the Economic Development Advisory Commission. Dr. Bergman’s involvement extended to the Montgomery Village District Advisory Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee at World Wide Technology. She also served as treasurer at Crestview Estates Inc.

In preparation for her career pursuits, Dr. Bergman earned an Associate of Arts in general studies from the College of San Mateo in 2003, a Bachelor of Science in information technology from the University of Phoenix in 2011, and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in 2013. She then went on to earn a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University in 2022. Dr. Bergman’s certifications include a certificate in strategic decision and risk management from Stanford University in 2013, a PMI certification from the Project Management Institute Inc. in 2011, and a certified emergency medical technician credential from Skyline College in 2008.

Dr. Bergman has also contributed to the field through her written works, including her dissertation, “Purpose Built Communities: An Urban Concentrated Poverty Intervention,” and articles such as “Exploring Future Search Change Theory as a Mechanism to Advance Transit-Oriented Development.” Reflecting on her path, Dr. Bergman notes a standout accomplishment was her groundbreaking role as the first woman to deploy transportable satellite units, an essential support function for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Her efforts in constructing and establishing a data center for Chevron resulted in substantial cost savings, and her facility’s capacity facilitated a seamless expansion of the data center. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has been honored with awards such as the Hard Charger Award from World Wide Technology in 2018 and the Competent Communicator Award from Toastmasters International in 2012.

Outside her professional life, Dr. Bergman is committed to helping others, enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, and is passionate about rescuing racing greyhounds. Looking to the future, she plans to use her company’s platform to support businesses by generating content, creating web pages, initiating campaigns, and managing marketing operations. Additionally, she aims to adapt her dissertation into a book that presents its core ideas in accessible terms for a broader audience, ensuring that its content is both beneficial and enjoyable for readers while continuing her mission of supporting businesses through innovative solutions.
