DALENE KERSEY-PATTERSON

Dalene Kersey-Patterson came from very humble beginnings. She became a mother at age 16, later having three children in diapers by age 19. Although she tried attending college, she soon discovered that didn’t want to be a scholar, but instead a member of law enforcement. She served as a corrections deputy for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office from 1997 to 2007, further deciding to obtain a real estate license in hopes of finding an occupation more suitable for raising children with. Inspired to better families and communities, as well as live a balanced life caring for her mind, body and soul, Ms. Kersey-Patterson serves as a franchise owner of Phenix Salon Suites Franchising. The aforementioned salon provides luxury suites for hairstylists and salon professionals to conduct business independently of a full salon.

Likewise, Ms. Kersey-Patterson has greatly excelled as an administrator with BreakThrough Incorporated. Created by her and her husband, Breakthrough Inc., provides a residential setting to individuals who struggle with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. The organization works toward helping its residents graduate from high school, gain jobs and career skills to become employed, attend college after graduation and maintain themselves after leaving the program. Additionally, Ms. Kersey-Patterson maintains her real estate license, working part-time as a realtor for the Legacy Group/Keller Williams Realty.

Previously, Ms. Kersey-Patterson worked as a board member for North Wall Schools Inc., between 2008 and 2010. Devoted to her community, she has also contributed to those in need as the past chair of Leadership Spokane. As a result of her exemplary professional accomplishments, Ms. Kersey-Patterson was presented with the Janice D. Peneschi Most Inspirational Award from Phenix Salon Suites Franchise Corporate in 2018.

Ms. Kersey-Patterson attributes her success to the people in her life who pushed her forward and inspired her to continue being ambitious. She also recognizes her husband as her number one supporter and mentor. He has always believed in her and encouraged her throughout her tribulations. Because of his belief in her, it allowed her to have more self-confidence. For fellow members aspiring to work in the industry, Ms. Kersey-Patterson advises individuals to be hardworking, focused and dedicated to the field.

In the coming years, Ms. Kersey-Patterson aims to have a public platform where she can conduct public speaking engagements. In this capacity, she intends on reaching out to other women, and helping them achieve levels of greatness and success they may have never thought would be possible. Currently, she resides in Washington with her husband Christopher and their four children, Tyler, Kylie, Chad and Bailey. Ms. Kersey-Patterson would like to be remembered as someone who follows through and is trustworthy, honest and genuine.
