A member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Ms. Hill shows her professional commitment to leadership by mentoring her team to ensure the resort’s continued growth and success.
Before launching the Blissful Getaway Treehouse Resort, Ms. Hill achieved a historic milestone by being the first Gunner’s Mate Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. She subsequently advanced to become a Naval Officer and ultimately rose to the rank of Commander Lenteisa L. Hill. Throughout her military tenure, she made significant contributions to Ballistic Missile Defense, bolstering national security, and participated in missions worldwide. Her expertise was further exhibited during her service as a System Test Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), where she oversaw complex technical operations and ensured mission readiness.
Ms. Hill’s varied professional path includes being a property owner since 2005 and having successfully managed real estate assets alongside her other endeavors. Earlier in her career, she worked as a sales associate at Radio Shack, gaining invaluable experience in customer service and retail operations, which would serve her well later as an entrepreneur who, currently, regularly interacts with the public.
Valuing education and possessing an impressive academic background, Ms. Hill earned a master’s degree in systems engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, after graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance from Park University in Parkville, Missouri, and securing an associate’s degree in electromechanical engineering technology from Excelsior University in Albany, New York. These academic achievements have provided her with a robust foundation in business and engineering and continue to support her expertise in both disciplines.
Additionally, Ms. Hill earned a Master Training Specialist certification from the U.S. Navy, underscoring her commitment to career development and instruction. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with awards from the U.S. Navy for her exemplary service and excellence. Highly accomplished yet also civic-minded, she served as president of her homeowners’ association, demonstrating leadership beyond her professional roles.
A native of Chicago, Ms. Hill credits her success to a deep understanding of her family’s history and the sacrifices made by previous generations within the larger context of African American history in the United States. Inspired by her grandfather’s military service during the Korean War and her father’s tenure as a U.S. Marine, she became the first woman in her family to serve in the armed forces. Her perseverance, resilience, and tactical thinking have enabled her to overcome adversity, including racism and sexism throughout her career.
Ms. Hill enjoys traveling, reading, learning, teaching, exercising, and helping others. She intends to expand her resort ventures, promote financial literacy within African American communities, remain devoted to mentoring future leaders while serving as a role model, and pursue political aspirations, including a potential candidacy for President of the United States.
