Raised in Hong Kong, Helena Angwin-Leathers received her early education at King George V School, a highly competitive high school, where she graduated with an international baccalaureate diploma in 2010. She’d begun her career a year prior as an independent entrepreneur with Hell Models, a music and entertainment business, and became a marketing and general manager with Supertronic Models International in 2011, roles she held until she joined Drop HK as a marketing and public relations manager from 2012 to 2013. After realizing that her approach to business was very oriented toward digital marketing, she joined Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England, to gain a better grasp on various business elements such as finance and leadership.

During her time in university, Ms. Angwin-Leathers worked as a managing director for Inferno Crowd from 2015 to 2016 and as an assistant researcher and researcher at Anglia Ruskin University in between 2016 and 2018. She graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a bachelor’s degree in international business management, with honors, in 2017 and entered the field of digital marketing as a digital marketing specialist for Executive Properties and Maintenance LLC in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Holding the same role with Daily Media LLC in Santa Barbara, California, from 2018 to 2019, she went on to serve as a digital marketing leader for HPH Global Inc. in Santa Barbara in 2019.

In 2020, Ms. Angwin-Leathers joined Mission Wealth in Austin, Texas, where she has been active as the digital marketing manager since 2021. Taking pride in how hard she has worked to cultivate her expertise, she has continued to further her studies as her career has progressed. In 2020, she completed doctoral-level coursework at Anglia Ruskin University and achieved verified international academic qualifications from World Education Services. She has also been certified in English as a second language by the TESOL International Association. Furthermore, she has been pursuing a Master of Business Administration in marketing and business leadership at Antioch University in Santa Barbara, which she will complete in April 2022.

Inspired and motivated by a multitude of fantastic women professionals in her field, Ms. Angwin-Leathers is also very grateful for her excellent education, which provided her with the groundwork necessary to excel in digital marketing and growth strategies for startups. Furthermore, it has been her own relentless determination, emphasis on pushing boundaries and her desire to keep learning and exploring that has led to her cultivating significant skill in both digital marketing and international business. She widely considers the highlight of her career to be her work in making complex computer processes accessible to those who do not have a high level of digital or computer literacy.

In addition to her primary responsibilities, Ms. Angwin-Leathers has proffered her expertise as a public speaker on motivational topics and on neurodiversity in the workplace and is a member of the Cambridge Speakers Club of Toastmasters International. She has also had a number of articles published with Seeking Alpha, including “Slowing Times for GlaxoSmithKline, Ready to Return Stronger Than Before,” “Lockheed Martin: Helicopter Contracts and Military Stock Comparison,” “Gilead Sciences’ Purchase Deal With Kite Pharma: Potential Scenarios and Associated Actions,” and “IBM, Food Giants and Blockchain Technology.” Ms. Angwin-Leathers holds membership with the Institute of Leadership & Management and the Institute of Directors.

In 2021, Ms. Angwin-Leathers was named to the Pacific Coast Business Times 40 Under 40 list for her numerous accomplishments in the field. Previously, she had been awarded the Gold Award for Volunteering and the Silver Bursary Award by Anglia Ruskin University in 2016 and was also presented with an award for a major project on biotechnology during her time as an undergraduate. Her excellence also led to her being a semi-finalist in the 2016 Big Pitch, an annual event hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation. Looking toward the future, Ms. Angwin-Leathers hopes to continue to explore opportunities to help businesses run more efficiently and establish a legacy as someone whose emphasis is on human-centric, data-oriented decisions and who strives to empower others.
