As president of Strategic HR Partners LLC, she leads specialized training programs designed to equip professionals with essential tools for effective leadership and team development. Her work primarily focuses on the banking industry, where she offers in-depth instruction on performance reviews, behavioral interviewing, onboarding and setting clear expectations. Through three comprehensive training programs, she reaches individuals at all levels of leadership, encouraging personal accountability and supporting long-term organizational success.
Ms. Tilstra earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in business administration and management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She complemented this academic foundation with coursework from Center for Financial Training Inc., where she expanded her knowledge in leadership principles, financial systems and personnel development. In recognition of her commitment to excellence and service in professional and volunteer roles, she received the Tribute to Women and Industry Honorary award, highlighting her influence as a leader who uplifts others and contributes meaningfully to her field.
Ms. Tilstra’s professional journey began at First Fidelity Bank, where she was vice president and employment manager. During a time of financial uncertainty, she led a major downsizing initiative, guiding employees and leadership through a difficult transition. Her ability to approach complex personnel changes with empathy and professionalism shaped her values and laid the groundwork for the supportive leadership style she would become known for throughout her career.
In the next chapter of her professional life, Ms. Tilstra joined Atlantic Stewardship Bank as senior vice president and director of human resources. For nearly three decades, she played a central role in transforming the organization from a modest community bank with 25 associates into a thriving institution with 15 branches and 350 employees. Her strategic guidance and focus on culture development contributed to the bank’s success. She built a strong lending department and helped establish a leadership pipeline, hiring and mentoring individuals who later advanced to senior positions. Her impact on the institution’s growth and her ability to foster loyalty and leadership are among her most significant accomplishments.
Ms. Tilstra’s commitment to education has remained a consistent theme in her professional path. As an instructor at Ocean County College, she taught courses in business and human resources, sharing insights gained from her years in executive leadership. She continues to support adult learners and emerging professionals through her work with the Center for Financial Training, where she delivers custom programs that address current challenges and evolving workforce needs in financial services.
Outside of her professional work, Ms. Tilstra devotes time to causes that reflect her commitment to empowering individuals. She serves as a workshop facilitator at Renew Life Center, helping participants build confidence and prepare for employment. Through Dress for Success Northern New Jersey, she volunteers as a training specialist and seminar leader, offering practical tools for job readiness and personal growth.
