Over the course of two decades, Erin Dorshorst has distinguished herself through a dynamic career in sales, go-to-market strategy, and product and portfolio marketing, helping technology companies translate their complex innovations into compelling stories—and ultimately customer growth. As global head of brand and product marketing at Accertify since 2026, she established and oversees the portfolio marketing and brand teams, refines messaging and storytelling, empowers sales representatives, and overall enhances market positioning for the software development company.
Driven by a longtime passion for aligning technology and market needs, Ms. Dorshorst previously excelled as head of portfolio marketing at CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc. from 2023 to 2026, where she played an integral role in building the company’s first product marketing team from scratch, focusing on AI-powered SaaS software. In this capacity, she oversaw product launches, conducted persona interviews to better understand their buyers, and create value-based messaging for solutions. In addition, she gave presentations to customers about solution value, created comprehensive stories and narratives, spoke at conferences, oversaw press releases, and organized events.
Prior to this position, Ms. Dorshorst served for nearly a decade at Salesforce, Inc., starting in 2015 as a senior product marketing manager before advancing to director of product marketing and eventually senior director of product marketing. During this time, she honed her skills in product marketing and established herself as a renowned premier keynote speaker, presenting to audiences of up to 5,000 in person, and double or triple that number online. Through Salesforce’s unique style of presentation—called “presenting in the round,” where speakers walk around the room instead of standing on a stage—she was able to fully engage with audiences, bolstering her skills and informing her current success, which she considers a significant achievement.
Ms. Dorshorst began her professional journey with degrees in business and international relations from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. Equipped with a broad perspective on global markets and cross-functional collaboration, she joined IBM in 2005 as a systems sales representative, advancing through various roles across five years. In that time, she won IBM’s Louis Gerstner Award, the company’s most prestigious internal honor. When a colleague recommended her for a position in product marketing at the company in 2010, she knew she found her calling in what was then a still-emerging field; as of 2026, it has become one of the most critical positions in business-to-business tech organizations. She served as an offering marketing manager for two years before becoming a marketing manager at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Inc. before joining Salesforce.
As prolific as her primary endeavors are, Ms. Dorshorst has also dedicated much of her time and energy to extensive civic engagement. Since 2022, she has been active as a parent advisory committee member for the neonatal intensive care unit at WakeMed Hospital, a position inspired by her experience as a mother of twins, who were born prematurely and spent two months in the NICU. She also serves as an executive sponsor for employee resource groups within CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc. and as a local political volunteer and precinct chairperson. She previously fostered up to 20 dogs through the animal welfare organizations Saving Grace Rescue and Freedom Ride Rescue between 2019 and 2021 and volunteered with a local elementary school.
Attributing her own success to hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Ms. Dorshorst acknowledges how uncertain she was about her career aspirations when she was growing up. She believes it is important for young people to understand they do not have to have everything figured out right away and that they should discover their passions through exploring different options. Furthermore, she encouraged how essential it is to give back to one’s community.
Looking ahead, Ms. Dorshorst aims to become a chief marketing officer and, most importantly, continue being a good parent to her two children, alongside her husband, Christopher. Having built her career in product marketing and witnessed its growth, she sees a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and foster the next generation of professionals in the field.
