“Be blessed, be well, be loved,” is the personal motto of minister and tax expert D. Lavelda Davis who has fashioned a life designed to genuinely help meet people’s core needs in two critical ways—spiritually and practically. She emphasizes the importance of inner peace as being perennially priceless in parallel to her role as president since 2007 of Queens, New York-based Davida Enterprises specializing in expert tax preparation and resolution, for which she prepared well in previous positions at other companies as a director of accounting, controller, project manager, office manager, administrator, and more. Since 2009, Rev. Dr. Davis also has served on the board of directors of her co-op, where she is the treasurer and a past president.

Holding a Doctor of Divinity and a Master from Commonwealth Open University as well as a Bachelor in political science and government from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, Rev. Dr. Davis has certifications as an ordained interfaith minister by All Faiths Seminary International, a notary public in the State of New York, and an enrolled agent by the Internal Revenue Service. Further, she secured an OSHA certification provided by the Atlantic OSHA Training Center when she was previously employed at Alliance Mechanical Group, Inc., which hosted the extensive training.

Rev. Dr. Davis is most proud of earning her doctorate, which she says she did not plan and was encouraged to pursue by her dean. During her academic career, she has received awards from the Black Student Union at the State University of New York at Oswego and for her athletic prowess running track, playing basketball, and bowling.

Rev. Dr. Davis believes her success is the result of many years of facing every challenge leading to today. Determined to preserve her professional passion, within the next decade, her goal is to become completely independent by continually building her personal brand. Having already embarked on this quest as a sought-after tax expert and recently published author, Rev. Dr. Davis has written the articles, “How to Avoid 4 Tax Resolution Company Rip-Offs!”; “Possible Tax Resolution Strategies to Ease Your Mind If You Owe Money to the IRS”; “The Biggest Mistake Tax Payers Make – Avoid Paying Back Taxes.” Keeping up with industry standards and practices, she is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the National Notary Association, the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers and other key groups. As a ministry leader among her peers, she is the creator of invaluable clergy resources, including the “One Word Workshop Series” as well  as “Counseling for Clerics.”

Having a heart for her community and the world, Rev. Dr. Davis volunteers her leadership skills as an active supporter of Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity International, the Mission Society of New York City, the Humane Society International, the United War Veterans Council, the World Wildlife Fund, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The mother of her beloved late daughter enjoys spending time with her two cats, walking, reading, sports, outdoor jazz performances, and shopping at outdoor flea markets.
