
Now, Dr. McFarland remains dedicated to sharing her passion. She was an associate professor of music education at West Chester University from 2010 to 2015, an assistant professor of music education at West Chester University from 1991 to 2010, a teacher at the Conestoga Valley School District from 1992 to 1999, and a teacher in the Hempfield School District from 1991 to 1992. Dr. McFarland has also participated in numerous international presentations, including at annual conferences for the International Society for Music Education in Melanesia, Italy, China, Greece and Brazil. Further, she was a pianist with the McFarland Piano Trio and a contributor of articles to professional journals.When Dr. McFarland has spare time, she enjoys gardening, swimming, reading, and playing piano, organ, and clarinet. She stays connected with her peers through membership with the International Society of Music Education, the Society for Ethnomusicology, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and the Music Educators National Conference.
