Tracy McCoy

Distinguished across more than 20 years in business, marketing and design, Tracy McCoy founded her own digital marketing firm, Get Fish Slapped LLC, in 2015. As the company’s chief executive officer, she has been instrumental in shaping the agency’s boutique approach to client service. Through Get Fish Slapped LLC, Ms. McCoy consults directly with clients to develop successful brands and cohesive marketing plans tailored to their unique needs. Under her leadership, the firm has grown from a single-employee operation to a thriving business, employing more than 10 people — a significant milestone that stands as one of her proudest achievements.

Inspired by her desire to create opportunities in a small town that lacked any marketing agencies, Ms. McCoy is dedicated to nurturing the talents of young professionals in the Sebring, Florida, area. She has developed internship programs for high school students, collaborated with technical programs at area schools and created jobs that allow residents to work with clients nationwide while remaining in their community.

Prior to founding Get Fish Slapped LLC, Ms. McCoy served as the director of sales and marketing at Inn on the Lakes, honing her hospitality marketing skills while building relationships within the local business community. Her earlier career was marked by nearly a decade with Marriott International and Marriott South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. Ms. McCoy first joined Marriott in 2005 as a restaurant operations manager for the Orlando World Center Marriott, followed by nearly five years as the director of restaurant operations for Marriott’s Doral Golf Resort and Spa. She was later promoted to director of hotel operations for food and beverage, a role that had her overseeing rebranding projects and collaborating closely with corporate teams on training initiatives.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. McCoy gained critical knowledge and skills integral to her success through her academic experience. She earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management with a minor in marketing from the University of Central Florida in 2004. Ms. McCoy’s pursuit of continued professional development is evident through numerous qualifications. Among her many skills, she is certified in Google Ads search, Google Ads app, Google Ads display, Google Ads video and Yext, a branding management platform.

Further showcasing her unwavering commitment to engagement with the local business community, Ms. McCoy is an active member of the Sebring Chamber of Commerce. Her expertise has also garnered recognition beyond her agency, particularly in the form of an esteemed partnership with Apple. Through this collaboration, Ms. McCoy has been invited to speak as a marketing expert at several events and has been featured on the Apple Business website for her effective use of Apple Business Connect marketing tools. Her reputation as an industry thought leader has led to additional speaking engagements and opportunities to share her insight into emerging trends through upcoming projects, such as a podcast focused on business ownership and multigenerational entrepreneurship.

Among the accolades Ms. McCoy has received throughout her professional life, the most meaningful have been directed at her current business. Get Fish Slapped LLC has been named Best Marketing Agency by a local newspaper for four years and was awarded Business of the Year by the Sebring Chamber of Commerce in 2025. She credits her achievements to building strong relationships and business partnerships rooted in trust.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. McCoy has been a board member of the YMCA of Highlands County. She was appointed as the vice president of the Highlands Art League from 2017 to 2018 and as the commissioner of the Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency since 2019.

In addition to her career, Ms. McCoy is a loving mother to two daughters, Rylee and Madisyn. She devotes much of her free time to her family, including taking trips to Walt Disney World, working out and going on walks.

Looking to the future, Ms. McCoy is eager to continue developing her team’s knowledge base, particularly through the implementation of artificial intelligence. She also plans to expand the company’s capabilities through new programs that collaborate with local schools in technical fields such as graphic design and web development. Exemplifying her entrepreneurial spirit, focus on community and passion for empowering others, Ms. McCoy is also considering establishing a foundation dedicated to supporting these educational initiatives.
