Holding considerable expertise in buying and selling, new homeowners, and investment properties, Michelle R. Walsh began her professional path with a bachelor’s degree in business from Marymount University in 1996. Drawing on her experience in business, she became a real estate broker with J.T. Fleming & Company in Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 2013, staying with the firm until 2019. Concurrently, she served as a real estate broker with Iron Gate Realty from 2016 to 2019. After briefly spending time as a real estate broker with Atlantic Properties of the Lowcountry in 2019, Ms. Walsh established the Charlestowne Realty Group later that same year, where she now excels as the owner and broker.
Having gotten her start in commercial real estate and appraisal, Ms. Walsh’s current focus is on residential real estate, and her duties with Charlestowne Realty include liaising and following up with clients, both buyers and sellers, and setting up appointments and viewings. Furthermore, she has made a name for herself as a professional who will go above and beyond for her clients. In addition to being willing to look outside of the regular housing market for her clients, she has a team that is dedicated to making sure all the client’s transactions are as smooth and streamlined as possible. Ms. Walsh also strives to help her clients following their sales, including cases where the client wants to flip the house or if they are in need of a contractor, such as and electrician or plumber.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Walsh hopes to continue to grow Charlestowne Realty enough to open a second location and to get her brand-new investment business off the ground. Attributing much of her success to her work ethic and honesty, she takes a huge amount of pride in helping her clients find the best possible option that will benefit them in the long term. She notes that it’s so much more than just making a sale, and she has even talked clients out of a sale because she thought they could do better. In order to keep abreast of developments in her field, Ms. Walsh maintains professional membership in the National Association of Realtors.
For her excellence, Ms. Walsh has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades over the course of her career. Named among the Top 1% of Brokers in Charleston six years running, she was also featured on the cover of World Producers Magazine in 2020, on the cover of Top Agent Magazine in 2021, and in the Daniel Island Magazine upon the receipt of the Realtor of Distinction Award in 2021. Beyond these awards, she considers the highlight of her career to be selling over $80 million worth of properties in 2021 along with the fact that she has been able to be beat her personal goal of increased sales every year. Ms. Walsh also finds incredible gratification in getting to see the looks of happiness on her clients’ faces when their transactions close.
With a great love for people, Ms. Walsh notes that her favorite part of her career is getting to meet new people and learn their stories. Her goal is to cultivate a legacy as someone caring and trustworthy who provided personalized services and was a friend to her clients. She feels it important to emphasize that, even though she is responsible for ensuring that Charlestowne Realty excels as a business, that doesn’t impact just how deeply she cares about her clients. To young and aspiring professionals, Ms. Walsh would advise that they be willing to challenge themselves to approach people and make connections both in their field and outside of it.
Alongside her primary career responsibilities, Ms. Walsh has contributed her skills to a number of civic endeavors. She is member and volunteer with the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club, volunteers her time to the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center and a variety of projects with Habitat for Humanity, and has also provided support to a number of other charities as well. In her free time, Ms. Walsh enjoys playing tennis, jogging, and spending time with her family, which includes her husband John E. Walsh, to whom she has been married since 2004; her children, John and Sydney; and her two bulldogs, Chaz and Diva.
