Armed with an unshakeable passion for medicine and a determination to achieve excellent quality in all aspects of patient care, Dr. Deborah Keirstead Bublitz is known for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of pediatrics. She began her career as a physician after earning a Bachelor of Science from Bates College in 1955 and an MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1959. She went on to pursue a residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and at the Department of Public Health and Hospitals at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a research fellow of the John F. Kennedy Center in Denver in child development. Dr. Keirstead Bublitz is certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Having served as associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and The Children’s Hospital since 1987, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz has demonstrated a clear commitment to sharing what she learned with others. She has additional experience as an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the school, where she held the title from 1975 to 1987.
Besides her academic work, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz has maintained a strong connection to her peers and community over the years. She served on the credentials committee at Swedish/Porter Hospital in Englewood, Colo., for two years, and she holds active privileges at Littleton Adventist Hospital, Sky Ridge Medical Center, Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Porter Adventist Hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz is active in La Leche League, a nonprofit advocacy group that provides support on mothering through breastfeeding, where she has been medical associate and adviser since 1975, and was chief of the department of pediatrics for La Leche League International from 1985 to 1987.
Notably, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz continues to offer the best possible care for infants, children, and adolescents in her remarkable private practice at the Littleton Pediatric Center in Colorado, where she has been fostering their growth, development, and health for 48 years.
Staying at the forefront of her profession, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz has been a member of the American Medical Association, the Women’s Governing Council of the Colorado Medical Society, the Arapahoe-Douglas Medical Society, and the American Women’s Medical Association. She also co-authored “Clinical Pediatric Otolaryngology” in 1986.
For her outstanding performance as a pediatrician, Dr. Keirstead Bublitz was honored for her publication in “The Leading Physicians of the World” by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. She has also been featured in numerous issues of Who’s Who in Industry Leaders, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
