Taffene Dobson Hollingsworth is a skilled planner and organizational professional who has leveraged her talents into a decades-spanning career in project management and management analysis. For more than 20 years, she has served the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a member of the knowledge management group, where she is critically involved in a variety of vital projects and key responsibilities.
Among her duties, Ms. Hollingsworth supports other project managers, handles timekeeping tasks, works with the information technology service team, ensures high-quality customer service, onboards new technicians, and sets expectations for service quality. She became involved in her industry as a part-time employee with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, after which she pursued a college education. From 1983 to 1997, she secured experience with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and from 1999 to 2000, she worked for the National Cancer Institute. Since 2000, she has excelled in her current role as a project manager and management analyst with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Ms. Hollingsworth enjoys motivating others and giving them the hope and strength to pursue their dreams. She aims to support individuals who need help achieving their goals and prefers to work behind the scenes bolstering others. As a skilled planner, successful events to her credit include her large family reunion in Washington, D.C., which was attended by more than 350 people. Ms. Hollingsworth held the event twice, once in 1993 and again in 2017, and regards the achievement of both iterations with personal pride.
Pondering her future, Ms. Hollingsworth expects to someday enter a well-deserved retirement yet will stay active by starting an organization to help seniors who lack familial support. She plans to help the sometimes vulnerable population navigate doctor’s appointments and the complex health care system while providing transportation services and offering much-needed companionship to make their lives easier.
