SONIA PATRICIA SWALLOW

Working toward her goal of giving people the ability to live their lives to the fullest, Sonia Patricia Swallow joined the Women in Politics Canadian Conservative Party as the regional director in 2016. Her background in visionary team leadership, group integration, and motivational speaking has really come in handy as she navigates the political landscape. The organization was founded to support women aspiring to hold public office.

Another way Ms. Swallow supported her goal was through her company, Apollo Driver Training, Ltd. She saw firsthand the pain that could be caused by unsafe drivers, so she made driver education her mission from 1996 to 2012. One of the things that set her apart from other schools of this nature was her willingness to work with people who had lost their licenses due to medical conditions or impaired driving. She loved seeing the return of faith and the joy these people felt when they got their new licenses; so many doors were opened in lives where it seemed impossible.

Ms. Swallow prepared for her endeavors by completing coursework in business studies at the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, the Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology, and the Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, and advanced coursework at the Rhema Bible Institute. She was also a graduate of Willis Ladies Business College Ltd, a certified advanced classroom instructor and driving instructor through the Ontario Safety League, a certified instructor for the disabled, and a certified supervisory driver educator, among others. She also garnered hands-on experience in a variety of roles, like assistant to the Nuclear Research Scientists Team of The Atomic Energy Control Board in Ottawa, medical assistant to Dr. Koraisha Robinson and Dr. Louis Robinson, Internist, and executive assistant to retail stock brokers in Toronto.

In light of her achievements, Ms. Swallow was honored with the School Award for Best Drivers Education School Regionally from 2004 to 2007, and recognition from The Bereaved Youth Association, the City of Toronto Seniors, and the York Region Board of Education. She attributes her success thus far to her God-given passion and dedication.

When Ms. Swallow isn’t working, she enjoys lay teaching and preaching, reading, music, and event planning. She is also involved with the Christian church and faith, the children’s, youth, and senior ministry, street ministry missions, and faith outreaches. She even has her own home prayer group, The Swallow’s Nest.
