Rita Cave was inspired to a career in business by her father, who owned and operated a carpet-laying company until he was 72. Proud to have established her own business at the age of 19, she spent more than eight years in the mortgage industry before turning her attention toward management. From 2008 to 2009, she owned a bar before spending three years as a trainer for Martin Bower and Reyes Holdings, LLC and five years as the director of customer service for Rhinehart. In 2017, Ms. Cave became the manager of multi-unit national accounts for the Performance Food Group, where she manages an eight-person department that handles 30 national accounts.
With considerable expertise in organizational leadership, management and training, Ms. Cave’s duties with Performance Food Group include creating policies and procedures and ensuring staff members are trained in them; managing client and inventory contracts; liaising with all of their internal departments; and resolving any client issues. In addition, under the company’s auspices, she leads a social committee through which employees can volunteer for charity work. They are particularly active with Feeding America. Attributing much of her success to her inner drive and her ability to grow, Ms. Cave achieved a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership from Bethel University in 2021.
Ms. Cave’s goal throughout her career has been to strive for continued opportunities for advancement. Presently, she is preparing herself to move into a directorial position at Performance Food Group, as she will be taking over when the current director retires. She is looking forward to being able to contribute more to the firm’s growth in that role. Previously, she was a member of the National Women’s Federal Association when she was running her own business, and she plans to rejoin the association once she achieves her director position. Ms. Cave also hopes to eventually open a mom-and-pop restaurant alongside her husband, drawing on her early experience owning a bar.
