Who's Who of Professional Women

A Christian science practitioner, Prudence Anderson has dedicated her career to helping others see the power of God in life. She has believed in her mission for as long as she can remember; she knew it was what she was meant to do. The first stop on her journey was Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. Ms. Anderson then used the knowledge she accrued to obtain positions like international negotiator at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration in Washington and member and speaker of the Association of Pupils of Herbert E. Rieke, CSB. To this day, she continues to make strides as a Christian science practitioner in Washington.

Ms. Anderson loves inspiring people to be better to themselves, their neighbors, and the planet. Some of her greatest professional achievements include aiding in concluding agreements on the international trade of endangered species and playing an instrumental role in whale conservation through the International Whaling Commission, as well as in the conservation many other fish and marine species. Ms. Anderson is also proud to have eliminated foreign fishing in the U.S. 200-mile zone and to have drafted trade measures in line with conservation objectives. Her efforts led the U.S. Department of Commerce to honor her with a bronze medal in 1999. Ms. Anderson attributes her success to God, Herbert and Dorothy Rieke, and Rodolfo Lacusong, her mentors.

When Ms. Anderson isn’t working, she is very active in her community. She was notably a member of the board of trustees of the Christian Science Church, the secretary of the Principia Club, and a reader at the Adams Morgan Christian Science Church. Currently, Ms. Anderson is the manager of the Christian Science Reading Room in Adams Morgan, D.C.

  1. I met Mrs. Prudence Anderson and she introduced me to Christian Science . Her love to God is so evident and practical. She is very graceful in many things including in her achievements . She came to the Philippines many times but the last time she came, she blessed many place she visited by her loving prayers and love . Most of those places now with her prayers are very developed and many individuals whom she met were also blessed by her kindness and prayers.
