Having accrued more than 35 years of inimitable expertise in the field of health care, Phyllis L. Johnson has garnered a laudable reputation as a consultant since 1995, currently serving the Noli White Group. In this role, she works with hospital administrators and managers in the design and equipment of new department renovations. Most large projects take around five years to complete. What separates Ms. Johnson from others in her field is her years of experience, through which she has seen how hospitals have the same problems, but solve them differently. She is grateful for her opportunity to travel to many places through her profession.

Ms. Johnson initially began her career in 1985, shortly after completing a degree. She subsequently worked on behalf of Saint Mary’s Medical Center as a surgical manager of orthopedics, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a coordinator of trauma and transplants, after which she assumed her current role as a consultant. During the early stages of her professional journey, Ms. Johnson taught various courses as an instructor of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology at Lockyear College in Evansville, Indiana, between 1987 and 1990. She then spent another year as an instructor for the surgery technician program at Ivy Technology College in Evansville until 1990.

Prior to embarking upon her career path, Ms. Johnson attended Southeast Missouri State University, from which she attained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1984. She later completed postgraduate coursework at Vanderbilt University. Eminently qualified in her field, Ms. Johnson is certified as an operating room nurse and laser nurse.

To remain aware of developments effecting her area of expertise, Ms. Johnson has maintained her professional affiliation with several pertinent organizations. Among them, she is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Additionally, she keeps active with the local community through her church and lives on a cattle ranch, owning over 60 cattle. She grew up on a rural farm and has always been around animals. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Johnson has been cited in the fourth and fifth editions of Who’s Who in American Nursing.

What has motivated Ms. Johnson throughout her career has been that health care is always needing improvement, and helping nurses and clinicians see the bigger picture has been rewarding for her. She would like to be remembered as someone who was fun to work with and had a great sense of humor. If she could advise young women looking to pursue her field, Ms. Johnson would tell them to work hard and keep learning. Overall, she most enjoys being able to meet many health care workers across the United States.
