Penelope Arango

Penelope Corey Arango, a Quality Management Consultant and owner of the Arango Group in Miami, Florida, celebrates 55 years of excellence in business. Her diverse background, which formerly includes many years as a Psychologist, also encompasses several appointments in education as an Assistant Psychologist-Spanish and Intergroup Relations Specialist for the Dade County Public Schools in Miami and later as the Director of CQI, Training and Development for CAC-United HealthCare of Florida. Among other positions, Ms. Arango simultaneously worked as a licensed Real Estate Broker with Helmsley-Spear in Florida. She was also a LAO/Continuous Improvement Facilitator for Carrier Air Conditioning in Miami and Puerto Rico. Since 1996, Ms. Arango has been a Faculty Member of the (Bayer) Institute for Health Care Communication in West Haven, Connecticut. Currently, as owner of Arango Press, she has published many books on architecture, biographies and children’s books, as well as teaching Spanish as a Second Language.

Ms. Arango drew a wealth of inspiration from her late husband, Jorge S. Arango, a world famous architect, who brought Modernism to Miami in the 1960s with his store Arango Design, his column in The Miami Herald, as well as his architectural office in Coconut Grove. Their marriage lasted 30 years, and together they enjoyed several successful business ventures together. A strong believer in the power of civic advocacy, since 2010, Ms. Arango has spent time volunteering for St. Augustine Church’s Finance Department, as well as volunteered in Oncology at Baptist Hospital. Likewise, Ms. Arango was a member of her local homeowners’ association as well.

Ms. Arango attended the University of Madrid, where she received a diploma in Spanish culture in 1962. She subsequently studied at the University of Grenoble, from which she acquired a certificate in French language and literature in 1964. From there, Ms. Arango pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art at the University of Miami, graduating in 1965, before attaining a Master of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado in 1977. Additionally, she has held a certificate as a Psychological Assistant from the University of Florida and a Teacher’s Certificate in Art Education from the Florida Department of Education. Moreover, Ms. Arango has been a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida from 1989-2015.

Ms. Arango was acknowledged by many organizations including Archbishop Wenski, of the Archdiocese of Miami, certifying her as a Parish Missionary Disciple for St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center at the University of Miami campus. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Arango has been cited approximately 20 editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.

I agree with Kathy Foy that Penelope has made this world a better place utilizing her BIG heart, along with all the talents she has been gifted with and further developed. I am fortunate to know her.
