Earlier in her career, Ms. Arndt worked as a consultant for several organizations, offering expertise in organizational development, research and stakeholder engagement. Her experience also extends into academia, where she contributed as a research assistant at Empire State University. In that role, she explored business trends and the dynamics of organizational growth, gaining valuable insights that continue to inform her consulting work. Her background as an educator further strengthened her communication and leadership skills. As an instructor with Joint Education and Training and GST BOCES, she designed and delivered coursework that emphasized applied learning and student empowerment.

As a caseworker for Tompkins County, she joined the Ithaca drug court treatment team, working alongside judicial staff to support families affected by substance abuse. While working as an organizational development coordinator for Tompkins County, Ms. Arndt demonstrated steady leadership during one of the most uncertain moments in modern history. On September 11, she was called to meet with the head of what was then the Tompkins County Board of Representatives, now the legislature. Despite the prevailing sense of fear and confusion, she remained on-site, providing counsel and maintaining composure. She considers this a defining moment in her career, a testament to her calm presence under pressure and her dedication to duty. Her early experience as diversity coordinator for the City of Elmira was equally formative, reinforcing her lifelong belief in inclusivity and equitable access.
Ms. Arndt’s professional affiliations reflect her broad interests and community engagement. She has been involved with the Society for Human Resource Management, participated in the Affirmative Action Situation and served as a board member for the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County.
