Born in Honduras, Nancy E. Flores immigrated to the United States with her family when she was just 9 years old. After graduating with a diploma from Woodrow Wilson High School, she went on to complete vocational coursework at the Computer Learning Center and achieved certification for computer intro to DOS. She went on to obtain a community health worker certificate from the City College of San Francisco. She began her career in 2001 as a patient services representative with the California Pacific Medical Center Mission Bernal Campus & Orthopedic Institute, previously known as the St. Luke’s Campus. Remaining in this role for a decade, Mrs. Flores joined the San Francisco Human Services Agency in 2012, where she served as a senior bilingual food stamp and medical eligibility worker until 2021.
Armed with considerable expertise in customer relations in the medical field, Mrs. Flores has excelled as a bilingual care coordinator with Included Health, Inc. in Houston, Texas, since 2021. In this role, she assists patients over the phone and ensures the needs of their Spanish- and English-speaking patients are met. She feels incredibly proud to have maintained her fluency in Spanish from childhood when faced with an education that offered no bilingual classes. Furthermore, she credits much of her success to her desire to show appreciation for her parents, who did not gain the same fluency in English that she did. Through her diligent efforts, Mrs. Flores was able to help both of her parents become U.S. citizens.
Outside of her primary responsibilities, Mrs. Flores serves on the board of Arriba Juntos/Upwork Together, an organization affiliated with Upwork Global, Inc., and runs the web store Baby Store Fashionistas, where she sells a range of infant care items. She has additionally begun pursuing a secondary career in real estate investment and is currently active with Win Win Always Real Estate LLC in Houston. In her free time, Mrs. Flores enjoys cooking, shopping, karaoke, spending time with her husband, Kenny Flores, and watching her four children, Candy, Isaak, Brianna, Isabellah and their pet Coco.
