Milena Sevigny

A leader in corporate and social responsibility for more than 20 years, Milena Sevigny has distinguished herself across diverse sectors and geographies in her career. Today, as chief of staff at LifeMed Alaska, she is pivotal in advancing the organization’s mission to deliver critical health care throughout the state. Ms. Sevigny manages complex logistics for remote operations, major initiatives, long-term programs, and the development of new services—leading a dedicated team that supports these operational efforts. Using strategic planning to meet goals, she ensures that large-scale projects progress efficiently while supporting collaborations with partners like the American Heart Association.

Prior to joining LifeMed Alaska, Ms. Sevigny was the executive director at Kids Kupboard, expanding food security initiatives for children and families. She also worked with the TOTE Group, first as a community relations coordinator and then as a community relations program manager, experiencing a professional milestone when she led the BookWaves program during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this endeavor, she organized a nationwide effort to distribute approximately 70,000 new children’s books to more than 40 rural Alaskan villages over the course of two years, utilizing the TOTE Group’s shipping containers and logistics expertise to successfully complete this monumental task.

Ms. Sevigny’s earlier experiences include working in the sponsorship, events and meeting support division of Shell, followed by becoming a social investment adviser for the company, managing philanthropic investments and community partnerships to support local development projects. She developed foundational skills in business operations and customer service as a management trainee at Enterprise Holdings Inc. and a sales associate at Silver Hill Financial. She launched her career employed as a sales and marketing assistant manager at Relais & Châteaux.

Before venturing into her vocation, Ms. Sevigny sought a global perspective through education. In 2005, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in international hospitality management from the International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute School of Hotel Management in Switzerland. During her time there, she learned service and organizational leadership skills that have been integral throughout her career in managing complex projects and building cross-sector partnerships.

Noted for her achievements in the field, Ms. Sevigny’s contributions have been recognized with numerous honors. Most notably, she was listed in the “Top 40 Under 40” by the Alaska Journal of Commerce. Ms. Sevigny attributes her achievements to the vibrant networks she has cultivated across various fields. She emphasizes that collaborating with passionate individuals has been essential to overcoming challenges and driving impactful change.

Parallel to her profession, Ms. Sevigny is deeply engaged in civic activities. Since 2016, she has served as a board member for the Food Bank of Alaska, demonstrating her commitment to community service and sustainable development. Additionally, she was a board member of Valley Community for Recycling Solutions, board president of the Bright Lights Books Project, and affiliated with the Susitna Rotary Club.

Devoted to her family, Ms. Sevigny is married to Daniel Sevigny and the mother of a son and daughter. She enjoys spending her free time gardening and supporting gardening initiatives across the state of Alaska. Priorities for Ms. Sevigny in the year ahead are to increase access to seed libraries as well as enhance food security in the region through her involvement with the Alaska Food Policy Council. Alongside these efforts, she remains committed to improving health care access via her work at LifeMed Alaska, where she looks forward to introducing new sustainable programs to support rural Alaskans.
