Meri Goyette

With the intent to bolster her community’s impact and reputation as a whole, Meri R. Goyette ventured into the arts after receiving a degree from Lasell Junior College in 1946. For years, she has been a dedicated art patron, striving to highlight and uplift the arts and artists. She also co-founded the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, where sculptures are donated to the city of Nashua, New Hampshire, for public display, and is a founding member of the international Women’s Review Board.

For her professional achievements, Ms. Goyette has been recognized throughout her career. To wit, she has been named Citizen of the Year, Remarkable Woman and Woman of the Year. She received awards as the Best Humanitarian from the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, the Outstanding Support of the Arts from the Hollis Art Society and the Appreciation for Outstanding Service Given to the Community. Ms. Goyette has been most proud to receive the Governor’s Art Award.

Throughout her career, Ms. Goyette has attributed her success to a propensity for persistence in all her endeavors with the support of her husband, Dr. Charles H. Goyette, who encouraged her passion for the arts. The proud mother of six, Ms. Goyette has welcomed numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren into her family.

Ms. Goyette attributes her success to forward thinking outside the box and persistence. She saw the artistic talent in Nashua and brought together city leaders, businesses and artists. Today, Nashua is recognized as a city that celebrates the arts.
