Marie Cecchini Sternquist, MS, CHHC, is the owner of Synergy Health & Nutrition, LLC, where she applies her expertise in human nutrition and functional medicine to promote holistic wellness. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry from the University of Colorado Denver, a Master of Science in nutrition and functional medicine from the University of Western States, and a Bachelor of Arts in environmental population and organism biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Dr. Sternquist’s commitment to health care spans more than three decades, with diverse roles in research, education, and clinical practice. Before founding Synergy Health & Nutrition in 2017, she served as a holistic nutrition practitioner and director at the Alaska Health Improvement Center. Her career also includes positions as a research director at the Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education and executive director of Narconon of New England. Combining a profound understanding of clinical research with hands-on nutrition response testing and coaching, Dr. Sternquist has earned certifications in integrative nutrition health coaching and advanced nutrition response testing.
Dr. Sternquist’s work is driven by a passion for detoxification and functional nutrition, emphasizing restoring balance through natural and noninvasive methods. At Synergy Health & Nutrition, she offers comprehensive health assessments, including detailed symptom surveys and noninvasive muscle testing, to create individualized nutrition programs tailored to each client’s unique health needs. Over the years, she has helped countless individuals regain their health by identifying and addressing underlying issues often overlooked in conventional medicine.
Beyond her private practice, Dr. Sternquist serves as a director at the Foundation for a Drug Free World and sits on the advisory board for the International Academy of Detoxification Specialists. Her community contributions include volunteer work with the Community Pregnancy Center and the development of innovative wellness programs, such as “Our Nutrition Kitchen.”
Dr. Sternquist’s groundbreaking work includes documenting the success of a detoxification regimen for 9/11 rescue workers, which used exercise, nutrients, and low-temperature sauna sessions to remove toxic residues. This method has been implemented in regions affected by dioxin and in police departments addressing methamphetamine exposure, earning widespread recognition for its efficacy.
Outside her professional endeavors, Dr. Sternquist is an avid outdoorswoman, enjoying rafting, mountain climbing, skiing, hiking, and photography. She credits her success to following her heart and pursuing her passion for helping others achieve optimal health. Looking to the future, she plans to continue serving her clients while scaling back her workload to dedicate more time to her hobbies.
