M. NISA KHAN

The founder and president of IEM LED Lighting Technologies, M. Nisa Khan has thrived in the semiconductors and engineering field. She and her company develop LED lighting technologies through research, innovation, and engineering. Their services include providing training and tutorials for R&D, manufacturing, engineering, and marketing for LED and SSL lighting. They also offer comprehensive LED/SSL luminaire product design, optimization, simulation, and testing for various existing and new lighting products.  Dr. Khan also works as an independent consultant and performs feasibility studies in various LED lighting and display industries.

​Dr. Khan is the author of the research and college textbook, “Understanding LED Illumination.” It was described as the “most comprehensive introductory book in LED lighting,” by Professor Chou at Princeton University. Additionally, Dr. Khan wrote the “LED Update” column for Signs of the Times magazine between 2007 and 2016.

Dr. Khan is a dual professional. She is the founder and president of IEM Asset Management, LLC, which is a registered investment advisory (RIA) company superintended by FINRA and SEC since 2007. She considers her relationship with all of her financial clients as a very important part of her work. At IEM Asset Management, she actively manages investment portfolios and offers comprehensive financial planning services for numerous clients in the U.S. She previously worked at American Express as a senior financial advisor for four years.

​Dr. Khan earned a PhD and a master’s degree in electrical engineering and from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 1992 and 1989, respectively, and a Bachelor of Arts in physics and mathematics from Macalester College in 1986. She is also licensed in series 7 financial brokerage, series 66 financial advisory and securities law, and life and health insurance.
