Intrinsically motivated to enter the communications industry, Lisa J. Tomlin endeavored to pursue a career in newscasting and talent development. To prepare for her career, she attended Oberlin College in Ohio, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1987. Subsequently, she obtained a Master of Education in counseling psychology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in 1990. Following the receipt of her master’s degree, Ms. Tomlin entered her profession, having served at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia as a career counselor from 1990 to 1993.
As her career progressed, Ms. Tomlin excelled in many noteworthy roles, including as the director of career services at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1993 to 1995, a management consultant at the Ford Foundation from 1995 to 1997, and a manager of undergraduate and MBA recruitment at Barclays Capital from 1998 to 2000. In the latter stages of her career, Ms. Tomlin thrived as the president of Creative Solutions Strategies, LLC, from 2000 to 2002 and the director of career services at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, from 2002 to 2006. In addition, she was the president and owner of the Houston St. Clair Talent Adv. in Cleveland between 2006 and 2009 and the senior vice president and client solutions partner at Lee Hecht Harrison between 2009 and 2021.
Since 2022, Ms. Tomlin has found much success as a senior behavioral scientist and senior client solutions partner at CoachHub. Drawing upon experience in the areas of recruitment and acquisition, career development, training, and employee engagement, she maintains a staunch interest in working with individuals from high-level organizations, mentoring them in transforming their lives as fearless leaders who will have a substantial impact on their teams. Additionally, she partners with the business on sales and solution strategies on digital coaching, leadership development, and inclusive leadership practices.
A professional certified coach, Ms. Tomlin is particularly proud of being asked to serve as a keynote speaker at the Society for Human Resources’ Inclusion Conference in 2022, where she spoke on such topics as diversity, equity, and inclusion with a keen focus on learning and development. In this regard, she attributes a great deal of her success to her natural sense of curiosity, having always been intrigued with ongoing and prospective trends in business development and strategy. Leveraging her educational background and determination, she enjoys connecting ideas with worldwide events in a historical context, thereby applying her newfound knowledge to business transformation efforts.
In honor of her accomplishments, Ms. Tomlin has won numerous Superstar Awards, which have recognized her leadership prowess and expertise in business administration. Furthermore, she has been highlighted in several Who’s Who publications with inclusion in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in American Education, and Who’s Who in the World. Although decorated with a multitude of honors, Ms. Tomlin advises that each individual must learn to define their own version of success, emphasizing that everyone has a different personality and success is not objective.
Ms. Tomlin is a member of the International Coaching Federation in her free time. She’s also committed to various civic initiatives, such as helping the disabled population and volunteering at animal shelters. In the coming years, she aims to continue serving in leadership and executive-level positions with her attention set on influencing and aiding other organizations in her field. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she now resides in Holland, Pennsylvania. Outside of her professional ventures, Ms. Tomlin enjoys traveling the world, hiking, walking outdoors, and watching sports such as college basketball and American soccer.
