Backed by more than 40 years of experience in her professional endeavors, Linda Sanders Perez is highly regarded for her valuable knowledge and skill in various aspects of management, including project and program management, project planning and leadership. Ms. Perez’s career commenced immediately following her high school graduation. Young and eager, she joined the workforce at the Boeing Company, where she would excel for the entirety of her career until retiring in 2016. Well-known as a leader in engineering worldwide, The Boeing Company is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles worldwide. The company also provides leasing and product support services.
Joining the company in 1979, Ms. Perez initially served as a graphic designer and assembler for many years. As she continued to showcase her skills and commitment to the company, she went on to excel as the manager of spacecraft integrity and testing of GSE and riggers with Boeing and as a project manager with Boeing Intelligence & Analytics. In more recent years, Ms. Perez worked as the functional manager of Boeing Satellites, in which her responsibilities included overseeing the building of satellites and transportation to the launch site. Notably, she was the only female functional manager that worked on satellites at Boeing during her tenure.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Perez has managed 50 union technicians who supported 12 satellites, coordinated with multiple spacecraft managers and engineers across various shifts, and maintained responsibility for the integrity of spacecraft. Similarly, she served as team lead for BSS composite production and gained beneficial knowledge in battery production, microwave tubes, spot welding and cryogenics.
In a fulfilling career driven by science and engineering, Ms. Perez notes that the most rewarding aspect of her work has been seeing a satellite through its completion. She is deeply grateful for her experiences with the Boeing Company, and her gratitude goes back to her early years in joining the company, as they provided her with the opportunity to continue her education and even contributed to paying for her schooling. She also notes that the company has offered her excellent benefits, allowing for a positive company culture and workforce.
Ms. Perez feels honored to have been at the forefront of exceptional scientific and engineering success in the satellite industry, as well as to teaching the fundamentals of building, structuring and designing to countless colleagues and budding engineers. In accounting for her own success, she credits the support and encouragement of her family, who she describes as the most important thing in her life.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Perez intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career from the standpoint of a retiree. With this sentiment, she plans to continue to enjoy her retirement, as well as reflect back on a notable profession. Ms. Perez currently resides in Torrance, California. A doting mother, she and her husband, Ed, share three children, Ryan, Shawn and Ciji. Most notably, Ms. Perez is a distinguished Marquis Who’s Who listee.
