Judith C. Lovell is the founder and chief executive officer of Crystal Clear Educational Systems, Inc., a line of educational resources and instructional support products created to help make high-quality coaching, training, and professional development materials available to all. Since childhood, Ms. Lovell dreamed of becoming a teacher like her mother, and felt called to work in community and human services positions that would allow her to help create safer, stronger neighborhood resources. She launched her career in 1980 as an employee of the Metropolitan Transit Authority/New York City Transit, and in 1984, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in urban planning from Brooklyn College.
Ms. Lovell pursued additional education throughout the 1990s, first completing a management certificate at the College of New Paltz and a certificate in labor relations and contract negotiation at Cornell University before pursuing a Master of Science in public administration at the Metropolitan College of New York, graduating in 1996. In 1999, she returned to her first love, education, becoming adjunct faculty at St. Joseph’s College, ASA College and New York University. Since 2013, Ms. Lovell’s primary focus has been Crystal Clear Educational Systems, Inc., where she handles everything from sales and marketing to customer satisfaction and product development.
In addition to her educational and entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Lovell has been dedicated to supporting charity and community projects throughout her life. She is a charter member of the National Museum of African American History & Culture, a past president of the Tri-State Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, and a member of the Stuyvesant Heights Lions Club, with whom she designed and delivered more than 100 “COVID Care” packages for area seniors. A talented playwright and poet, Ms. Lovell is the author of “Moore Than We Bargained For,” an Isaac Lieberman-Award winning educational stage play about AIDS, and “Papa’s Letters: Love Via First-Class Male,” a love story based on her grandfather’s WWI-era correspondence. She was the 1999 poet-in-residence at St. Philips Church, and has been honored with numerous awards including the Famous Poets Society Shakespeare Trophy of Excellence, a citation from the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, and service awards from New York City Transit, St. Joseph’s College, and others.
