Jane Douthitt

After graduating from high school at the age of 15 and college at the age of 17, Jane Douthitt embarked on successful careers in various fields, including contract negotiation. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of the work she conducted with MBM International as a contractor in the Middle East. Along with her late husband of 60 years, she also maintained a manufacturing space of one million square feet and 3,500 employees in Fort Worth, Texas, before relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ms. Douthitt was often recognized as an employer who was kind to her employees and had several offices in many countries across the globe.

Prior to establishing her current businesses, Ms. Douthitt gained valuable professional expertise as the chief executive officer of production accounting for Paloma Films in Rome, for which she was also nominated to the board of directors. Currently, she is the executive vice president and treasurer of H.A.N.D.S. Inc., a national philanthropic corporation, and the owner of JKD Properties LLC. In order to remain aware of changes in various fields, Ms. Douthitt is affiliated with Epsilon Sigma Alpha, the National Rodeo Historical Society and Desk & Derrick as well as many trade magazines.

Prior to entering the workforce, Ms. Douthitt earned a degree in accounting and business from Texas Tech University in 1954. Devoted to her community, she contributes to those in need as a member of the First Baptist Church and Young Life. For her outstanding professional work and community involvement, Ms. Douthitt was spotlighted in an article for Rodeo News.

In light of her achievements, Ms. Douthitt was honored by Wrangler and ProRodeo at a luncheon in Las Vegas as a Notable Lady of the West. Additionally, she was presented with the Key to the City for Port Arthur, Texas. She attributes her success to being very smart and alert at an early age.

Additionally, she was inspired and encouraged by her father, who was in business and owned a large ranch in Texas. She never doubted her ability in the financial world. For those interested in pursuing her field of work, Ms. Douthitt suggests individuals do their education and remain passionate about their work. Looking toward the future, she intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career. She enjoys being satisfied with her life in the past, present and future.
