A highly versatile, hands-on and results driven human resource professional, Amy I. Stevens holds considerable expertise in recruiting, onboarding and training, and retaining and talent building, while prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion. Since 2018, she has contributed her skills in strategic and creative problem solving to Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites, Inc., and has held the role of human resources manager since 2021, following the receipt of her human resource professional certification in 2020. Priding herself on her ability to attain results while helping to foster meaningful relationships within the company, Ms. Stevens is always willing to offer advice, guidance and mentorship to help her team meet and exceed their goals.
Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites, Inc. is one of 24 divisions of Mitsubishi Chemical America and Ms. Stevens is a member of the corporate headquarters in Irvine, California. She is presently working to integrate all 24 divisions, providing strategic directions so that they can have all the divisions operating under the same policies and procedures. Her day-to-day work includes overseeing four locations and roughly 400 employees. To that end, she has human resources generalists at each location who report directly to her and she works alongside the president, general managers and vice presidents for all four sites. Looking toward the future, Ms. Stevens hopes to continue her career with Mitsubishi Chemical by moving into a regional position, such as regional manager or regional director.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Stevens found success as the office manager and human resource leader for Scott Harrison Plumbing and Heating, Inc. from 2017 to 2018 and spent a number of years as a general manager with Target. In addition, she holds membership with the Society for Human Resource Management and HRCalifornia in order to keep abreast of developments in her field. Having always enjoyed working with people and helping them to develop and grow their careers, Ms. Stevens discovered her calling while she was studying at Azusa Pacific University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing in 2004 and a Master of Business Administration in 2006. She is now pursuing senior certification in human resources and has completed a course in diversity, equity and inclusion at the University of Southern Florida.
Having excelled throughout her career and academic endeavors, Ms. Stevens has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades. She first received recognition in high school when she was featured in Who’s Who Among American High School Students all four years. During her time with Target, she was recognized for her excellence with two First Place Store awards, one for their district and group and the other for creating a safe working environment, and a First Place award for Best Team Survey Results. Above all this, Ms. Stevens considers one of the major highlights of her career to be working alongside the president and general managers at Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites to create COVID-19 guidelines. She is also very proud of achieving her human resources certification while working through the pandemic in 2020.
Attributing much of her success to her family, Ms. Stevens takes time to be active in her community alongside her primary responsibilities. A member of the California Chamber of Commerce, she previously volunteered with her local church. Her ultimate goal is to do everything that she can to uplift others. She is a focused and dedicated professional and finds great joy in being able to cultivate a positive work environment and getting to watch others succeed. Ms. Stevens currently resides in Costa Mesa, California, with her two dogs, a Boston terrier and a terrier mix.
