Who's Who of Professional Women

Although Alice A. Baker Dailey started her career as a music and piano teacher in Texas, she ultimately decided to pursue her true passion: physical fitness. She got hooked on the subject when, as a dancer, she noticed people having health problems. Ms. Dailey started investigating, and quickly became fascinated by physiology and osteopathology. She used what she learned to open Alice Ann Baker Exercise: Therapeutic Conditioning in 1980 and to join Texas Instruments in 1984 and HealthCheck and International Athletic Club as an exercise physiologist in 1985. She then took her expertise to employers like the Region 10 Education Service Center, the Verandah Club, Goodbody’s, and the Crescent Spa. Her final role before retiring in 2010 was owner and president of Oasis Mind-Body Conditioning Center, Inc., where she taught pilates. She loved seeing how the inner core workout movements made the bodies of her clients so much stronger.

Over the years, Ms. Dailey felt compelled to share her methods on a wider level. She wants to help as many people as possible in their quest for a healthier life, and to teach readers a holistic way of caring for their bodies. She thus became the executive producer and creator of “Your Dailey Inner Body Workout,” “Towel Work,” “The Inner Body Workout,” and “Therapeutic Conditioning,” and the author of “Daily Strengthening: 6 Keys to Balance Core Muscles for Optimal Health” and “Power of Posture.”

To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Dailey earned a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Oklahoma in 1968 and a Master of Science in exercise physiology from the North Texas State University in 1985. The latter also included an internship at the ports Medicine Clinic of North Texas in Dallas. To keep in touch with her peers and industry developments, Ms. Dailey continues to earn continuing education credits as a student provider. Additionally, she became a Gold Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Methodist Alliance and a certified fitness instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine.
