The daughter of a very accomplished cardiologist, Liqing Zhang, DDS, knew she would become a doctor since she was 7 years old. Her father was known for helping many people, and she wanted to feel the same feeling of fulfillment. She is also very skilled with her hands, so she felt dentistry was the best way for her to be creative, use her hands and help improve people’s lives. Dr. Zhang has served as a dentist at A to Z Dental in Illinois since 2008, previously serving as an associate dentist from 2006 to 2008.
Dr. Zhang has been practicing dentistry for the past two decades. She has treated tens of thousands of patients in China, Canada and the United States. She has acquired a very broad base of expertise in every specialty including oral surgery, periodontics, orthodontics, implants, endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Zhang keeps up with the latest technology including Fastbraces, which can straighten teeth in just months, not years, without extractions and at a lower cost than traditional braces. She is a senior master provider for Fastbraces, a distinction held by only a select few doctors in the whole world.
Dr. Zhang’s skill set is amazing and enables her to perform a remarkably wide range of dental procedures with expertise, gentleness and compassion. Regardless of the severity/complexity of patients and their dental problems, she has the ability to provide patients with excellent oral health and beautiful smiles. Dentistry is her passion and she has taken it to a new level. Prior to the start of her career, Dr. Zhang pursued a formal education in China, earning a Master of Science in periodontology in 2001. She then pursued a formal education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, Canada, where she attained a DDS.
Outside of her primary trade, Dr. Zhang maintains involvement with the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Association, the American Implant Association and the Illinois Dental Association. In light of her accomplishments, she was named one of the Top 10 Students in Hubei Province, China. Moving forward, Dr. Zhang sees her practice continuing to do more community work with her current four offices. She wants to improve her skills and become a better dentist. She also wants to implement her philosophy in her practices so that she can help more people.
