Corporate law expert and leader Meredith Allen, JD, is three decades into a career consistently punctuated with achievements. In 2024, she rose to the position of senior associate general counsel at Worley, a leading global engineering and professional services firm based in Australia. Ms. Allen oversees a wide range of legal matters for the company with a specific regional focus on the Americas. Her professional prowess and solutions-oriented approach have helped guide the organization through complex legal landscapes.

Prior to joining Worley, Ms. Allen worked for more than a decade as legal director and head of compliance at JESA S.A., where she was recognized for building the law department from its inception and supporting the organization’s growth from approximately 600 employees to nearly 5,000. This accomplishment stands as one of Ms. Allen’s proudest professional milestones. Her leadership ensured robust compliance frameworks and fostered a culture of ethical business practices.

Concurrent to her time at JESA S.A., Ms. Allen spent several years as a faculty member at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. While in Morocco, she also was an executive director at Kettani Law Firm, maintaining positive relationships with English-speaking clients. Ms. Allen’s career began in human resources at BellSouth Corporation in 1995. Her exposure to legal professionals during this period inspired her eventual transition into law — a move encouraged by her boss at the time who was also a licensed attorney.

Education has been foundational to Ms. Allen’s success, starting with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with a focus on French from Furman University, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. She earned a Juris Doctor from the Northwestern California University School of Law and was admitted to the bar in California.

Ms. Allen’s journey into law was shaped by an early interest in the field and reinforced by practical experience managing legal operations abroad. Her parents instilled in her the belief that hard work yields results and that learning is a lifelong pursuit. Ms. Allen values humility and open-mindedness, consistently seeking new knowledge across disciplines, including law, business, culture and history. Her commitment to professional excellence is further demonstrated by her membership in the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Alongside her professional achievements, civic engagement has been an integral element of Ms. Allen’s life. She has served on boards for several not-for-profit organizations in the past and is a longtime grassroots volunteer in her local community. While living abroad, Ms. Allen chaired the management committee for George Washington Academy, an American school based in Casablanca, Morocco, helping to maintain high standards and best practices for the school’s curriculum and teaching principles.

Ms. Allen is a devoted wife and a loving mother to three children. Her favorite pastimes include reading, exercising and traveling around the world. As of 2026, she has visited 56 different countries.  As she continues to build her legacy at Worley, she looks forward to mentoring young lawyers and other professionals at the company. She is committed to sharing the insights into navigating corporate environments that she has garnered over her decades of hard work.

More than anything else in her career, Ms. Allen aims to empower the next generation with practical guidance drawn from her extensive experience. In this way, she hopes to foster the continuation of her ethical, solutions-focused approach to intricate legal issues.
