Kimberly Goodwin

Kimberly K. Goodwin has built a dynamic career at the intersection of organizational development, change management and executive coaching. Since founding Goodwin Solutions LLC in Danbury, Connecticut, she has worked as the company’s chief executive officer and executive and team coach, guiding organizations through complex transitions and leadership challenges. What began as an independent consulting venture evolved into a trusted firm specializing in two core areas: change management consulting and executive coaching. Under her leadership, Goodwin Solutions has become known for delivering tailored strategies that help clients manage transformation while strengthening their leadership capabilities and team performance. 

Ms. Goodwin’s academic foundation has been central to her success. She earned a Master of Science in organizational behavior from the University of Hartford after completing a Bachelor of Science in industrial marketing and technical communications at Clarkson University. This combination of business strategy, communication, and behavioral science provided the analytical and interpersonal skills essential to her consulting and coaching work. Her expertise has been recognized through numerous awards for professional excellence and innovation, and her thought leadership is reflected in published works and conference presentations on change management, leadership development and organizational design. 

Ms. Goodwin’s credentials further highlight her dedication to professional growth. She holds certifications in change management, applied neuroscience coaching, emotional intelligence, MBTI, Six Sigma, instructional design, and board governance, among others. These qualifications allow her to integrate evidence-based methodologies into her work, offering clients solutions rooted in both science and strategy. 

Before launching her firm, Ms. Goodwin held leadership roles that shaped her approach to organizational effectiveness. As director of organizational development at Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH, she designed and implemented initiatives that supported business goals and enhanced company culture. Her earlier work as director of change management, training, and communications at Diageo was instrumental in driving enterprise-wide initiatives, building training programs, and developing communication strategies to support large-scale change. During her time as manager of training and change management, she created learning solutions that improved employee engagement and helped teams adapt to evolving business needs. 

Ms. Goodwin’s experience also includes pivotal roles at McKinsey & Company, managing the development of global training programs for consultants and staff, and facilitating cross-cultural learning initiatives in Europe. Her foundation in learning and development was first established at Aetna Inc., where she specialized in employee education and performance improvement. She began her professional journey with Accenture as a senior consultant, gaining early exposure to strategic problem-solving and project execution that would inform her future leadership roles. 

Among Ms. Goodwin’s most impactful achievements was leading a major payroll organization and systems transformation for United Technologies Corporation. Over the course of the initiative, she oversaw complex structural changes, guided stakeholders through the transition, and ensured successful implementation, an accomplishment she regards as a cornerstone of her career. 

Ms. Goodwin is deeply involved in professional organizations that reflect her commitment to continuous learning and thought leadership. She serves as a coach with Growthspace Inc. and Career Propulsion and is part of the partner network for Type Coach. Her memberships include the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Society for Human Resource Management, the National Association of Professional Women and the Association of Talent Development. 

Beyond her corporate work, Ms. Goodwin is dedicated to service and leadership within her community. She serves on the board of advisors for the Barney School Leadership Council and the business board for the Barney School of Business, where she also co-chairs the Board of Visitors. Her volunteer efforts include more than a decade with Girl Scouts of the USA, helping develop leadership skills in young women. 

Ms. Goodwin plans to broaden her advisory practice by partnering with multiple organizations simultaneously, offering flexible and customized strategies to help them adapt to evolving business landscapes. With a passion for guiding transformation and empowering leaders, she remains committed to helping organizations build resilience, drive performance, and thrive in an ever-changing world.
