Renee Tyer-Goodwin, PE, has blended careers in engineering, business and children’s literature with versatility and impact. As owner of Goodwin Global Publishing LLC, she has devoted her work to the development and promotion of the GG Life Lessons Storybook Series, an original collection she created and trademarked. Centered on the adventures of GG, a Cane Corso Italian mastiff puppy, and her friend Leo, the series offers young readers meaningful life lessons told through engaging narratives. Designed for children from infancy through fifth grade, each story concludes with vocabulary words that reinforce literacy and comprehension. She shares these stories through school visits, public library events and university literacy programs such as Born to Read, where she leads interactive read-aloud sessions that foster a lifelong love of books.

Ms. Tyer-Goodwin’s academic background laid the foundation for this multidimensional professional journey. She earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler, equipping her with a strong command of strategic planning, finance and organizational leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, a credential that positioned her as a trailblazer early in her career when she became the first female offshore drilling engineer supervisor for British Petroleum in the Gulf of Mexico. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in secondary education, also from Texas A&M University, which deepened her commitment to teaching and curriculum design.

Before founding Goodwin Global Publishing, Ms. Tyer-Goodwin led TP Exploration Inc. as engineering and business manager for nearly three decades. In this role, she managed federal oil and gas leases across the Northwest, conducted geological surveys and oversaw all aspects of drilling operations. Her leadership in an industry historically dominated by men speaks to her technical proficiency, business insight and perseverance. She not only operated but owned the corporation, demonstrating entrepreneurial courage and long-term vision.

Building on her diverse technical experience, Ms. Tyer-Goodwin worked with CP&Y Inc. as a consultant on civil engineering projects and had a tenure as a project engineer at Burton Engineering Associates Inc., supporting infrastructure development throughout East Texas. Earlier in her career, she was a senior engineer and business manager for TYMCO Oil Company, gaining experience in offshore and onshore drilling operations. These early roles provided the technical depth and operational fluency that later shaped her leadership in business and publishing.

Ms. Tyer-Goodwin’s accomplishments have garnered recognition from academic and industry institutions alike. She received the Aggie Women Legacy Award from Texas A&M University in honor of her contributions to engineering and for serving as a role model to future generations. Her children’s book “GG Cleans House: Learning Teamwork” received both the Mom’s Choice Awards Silver Award and the Family Choice Awards Gold Award. The book was also invited to appear at the Frankfurt Book Fair and will be featured at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy, a global platform for children’s publishing.

Ms. Tyer-Goodwin has authored “GG Cleans House: Learning Teamwork” and “GG Works the Honeybees – Helping Nature,” both part of her signature GG Life Lessons Storybook Series. The books teach lessons in responsibility, teamwork and environmental awareness through relatable, imaginative storytelling. Looking ahead, she envisions adapting the GG Life Lessons Storybook Series into an animated educational television program. This next step aims to expand her impact through multimedia learning, incorporating lessons on the alphabet, seasons, colors and cultural wonders from around the world.
