Gosia Jaros-White has established herself as a distinguished professional in educational marketing. Since 2021, she has served as the director of academic sales and marketing at Language Testing International, where she has been instrumental in managing content and digital marketing, advocating for language education and multilingualism in the United States, and leading a sales team focused on expanding language education in Latin America. Her role also includes lobbying efforts with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and the Joint National Committee for Languages, where she meets annually with members of Congress to support legislation that enhances language education programs.
Ms. Jaros-White’s career began at Pearson in 2003 as an editorial assistant at Pearson Prentice Hall. She advanced through various roles, including assistant editor for the Longman Academic Series and associate editor, before becoming a senior development editor in 2010. In 2013, she took on the role of product owner for the MyEnglishLab digital content team, overseeing digital learning materials. Her tenure at Pearson culminated as a field and product marketing manager from 2016 to 2021, where she managed a significant portfolio of English language teaching materials.
Ms. Jaros-White laid a strong academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in applied linguistics from Montclair State University in 2001, followed by a Master of Arts in applied linguistics, summa cum laude, from the same institution in 2008. She furthered her expertise with coursework in English philosophy at Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, Poland. Her professional credentials include mastering sales from Kellogg Executive Education and multiple digital marketing certifications from Coursera Inc.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Jaros-White is actively involved in civic organizations, serving as co-president of the Glen Ridge Music Parents Association and as a member of the advisory board for the Polish American Folk Dance Company. Her commitment to community service is evident through her support for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Tony’s Kitchen. She has also contributed to academia by serving on the advisory board for the linguistic department at Montclair State University.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Jaros-White’s journey in publishing was inspired by her college years in Poland, where she studied English language, history, and literature. Passing by an English language bookstore daily, she admired the Longman Dictionary but could not afford it. Years later, after moving to the United States, she secured freelance work with Pearson, the company that had acquired Longman, before landing a full-time role and fulfilling her aspiration of working in publishing.
Holding a master’s degree in applied linguistics with a specialization in teaching English as a second language, Ms. Jaros-White transitioned from education to educational publishing, realizing that teaching was not her true calling. She spent 18 years at Pearson, developing language learning materials, managing editorial and publishing projects, and eventually serving as a marketing manager. Following the pandemic, she left Pearson to join Language Testing International, where she continues to advance language education and assessment.
In advising aspiring professionals, Ms. Jaros-White emphasizes the importance of working on something one believes in or is passionate about, as it fosters engagement and long-term interest. She also stresses the need for a healthy work-life balance and encourages individuals to acknowledge their limitations, recognizing that doing so can lead to significant personal and professional growth.
Looking ahead, Ms. Jaros-White plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration to further advance her career while continuing to support her children’s educational journeys. Born in Gorzów Wielkopolski, she has been married since 2002 and is a devoted mother to two daughters, Emilia and Elizabeth. Her personal life is enriched by her family and diverse interests, including dancing, hiking, traveling, and volunteering with parent associations.
