
Yolanda D. Dockery has established a formidable career in human resources and finance, demonstrating her expertise with multiple organizations for nearly two decades. In 2024, she assumed the role of owner and president at IMSolutions LLC, where she is responsible for ensuring the company anticipates and achieves its strategic goals.
Ms. Dockery’s leadership is marked by her commitment to problem-solving, decision-making, and communication, which have been instrumental in building strong relationships across departments and fostering a culture of teamwork. Prior to becoming president and owner, Ms. Dockery had been affiliated with IMSolutions since 2006, when she joined the organization as the vice president of human resources and finance. She briefly left the company in 2022 to take on the position of director of human resources at Trident Resources but returned two years later. Ms. Dockery’s guidance has been pivotal in aligning IMSolutions LLC’s financial strategies for sustained success. During her initial 15-year tenure with the company, she was instrumental in shaping its policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting business growth through effective management practices.
Ms. Dockery’s academic background has been foundational to her achievements, beginning with a Bachelor of Arts in health care administration from Ursuline College in 1995. As her professional path shifted toward business and finance, she returned to school and obtained a Master of Arts in human resources development from Marymount University. Subsequently, Ms. Dockery earned an associate degree in accounting from Northern Virginia Community College in 2009. She further enhanced her skills by becoming certified in accounting and information technology.
Distinguishing herself in multiple capacities, Ms. Dockery’s influence extends beyond her corporate roles. Most notably, she became the director of chapter-to-chapter relations for the Tysons, Virginia, branch of the National Contract Management Association in 2025. This assignment reflects Ms. Dockery’s commitment to advancing best practices within her industry. It allows her to enhance her field more broadly by providing opportunities for professional development, education, and networking to colleagues.
Ms. Dockery credits prayer, patience, and open-mindedness for her career success. Outside of her vocational calling, Ms. Dockery has always deeply valued family connections. She grew up in a large family in Lorain, Ohio, alongside 13 siblings. These days, Ms. Dockery tends to her own large family as a devoted wife, mother to six — ages 36, 34, 31, 24, 26, and 22 — and grandmother to four. Her favorite hobbies include cooking, decorating, and entertaining guests.
Looking ahead, Ms. Dockery aims to secure larger contracts for IMSolutions LLC, thereby expanding the business further. By doing so, she seeks to create more job opportunities that will enable families to find fulfilling employment and support their loved ones. Though she now owns the company, Ms. Dockery continues to be guided by the care of others that defined her work in human resources and made her journey to leadership so natural.
