VICKY LOVELL

As a longtime spiritual leader, Pastor Vicky Lovell has nurtured not just a career, but a calling devoted to holistic healing, faith and community service. Since co-founding Angel Whispers Healing Center in Dexter, Michigan, in 2022, she has overseen its growth from a modest 70-square-foot office to a 5,000-square-foot healing center.

Pastor Lovell prioritizes the needs of hundreds of clients, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team of massage therapists, social workers, licensed therapists, doctors, spiritual directors and sound therapists to deliver comprehensive services. Among other offerings, she leads guided meditation sessions, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, qigong, stretching classes, intentional prayer groups, wellness classes and six-week grief programs.

Concurrently with her work at Angel Whispers Healing Center, Pastor Lovell has served as the pastor at Living RED Worship in association with Angel Whispers Ministries, which was co-founded in 2012 under the name Angel Whispers LLC by her and her partner Danielle. This duo — lovingly nicknamed “the Wonder Twins” — has been praised for combining faith practices with restorative modalities such as Reiki and sound therapy. Pastor Lovell is particularly proud of the development of their trademarked “Shift Your Lens” system, a groundbreaking trauma-healing method. In addition to guiding clients through the “Shift Your Lens — Healing Your Story” program at Angel Whispers Healing Center, she has traveled across the United States teaching the fundamentals of this program to others.

Prior to expanding Angel Whispers LLC’s scope, Pastor Lovell was associate pastor at Zion Lutheran Church for more than five years. During this period, she became heavily involved with the homeless community in Ann Arbor, Michigan, developing outreach programs such as “God and Grub,” which paired short devotional services with meals for those in need. Pastor Lovell previously gained experience in grief work as the director of family life ministries at Shalom Life Church. The first two decades of her career were focused on education, including tenures as a teacher at Pinckney Community Schools, Bloomfield Hills Schools and the DeKalb County School District, and time as an administrator with DeKalb.

Before venturing onto her career path, Pastor Lovell sought solid a foundation through education, beginning with a Bachelor of Arts in human development and education from Marquette University in 1994. She followed that by obtaining a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Georgia State University. Pastor Lovell returned to academia after shifting her professional focus to ministry, earning a Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary in 2017. She also completed certification in women’s studies from Life University in 2014 and Reiki training in 2022.

Beyond her primary vocation, Pastor Lovell finds value in sharing her ideas through writing and other media. Her first book, “My Guy in the Sky,” was published by Ferne Press in 2011 and chronicles her son’s near-death experience during a routine tonsillectomy — a pivotal event that inspired her transition from education into ministry.  In 2022, Pastor Lovell co-authored the book “Reiki and Faith: Supporting Reiki Through Holy Experiences and Scripture.” She hosts a podcast dedicated to sharing insights on healing spirituality and personal growth, runs a YouTube channel focused on spiritual exploration, and has given speeches and presentations on these topics as well.

Long committed to civic engagement, Pastor Lovell, serves as vice president of the board at Light of the World Academy, demonstrating leadership within education circles that extend past traditional classrooms. She also volunteers with Faith in Action, a nonprofit that supports community organizations of all denominations around the country. Through this group, she offers monthly programming and healing work for residents of low-income housing and direct outreach to the homeless community. Honored for the many ways she gives to others, Pastor Lovell received the Community Involvement Award by the City of Ann Arbor in 2020. She believes her success is the result of living from a place of love rather than fear and her deep desire to help others do the same.

Originally from Chicago, Pastor Lovell is a caring mother to three sons and one daughter. She takes pride in cheering on her children at their athletic events. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and outdoor activities including boating and hiking.

Planning for her future, Pastor Lovell will stay on the path of collective healing and wellness. She is writing a companion book to her “Shift Your Lens” program that will help readers understand their own origin stories and recognize how past experiences shape present behaviors. Further, Pastor Lovell expects to expand her podcast production and start a new show to discuss hidden spiritual sites around the world. Her goal is to establish a large meditation and retreat center that can serve as a sanctuary for hope, healing and inspiration.
