Ms. Jordan’s career began at a young age, inspired by her family’s and community’s entrepreneurial spirit on Pocahontas Island in Virginia. This historic community, the oldest area where free Blacks resided in the 1800s, shaped her early years and fostered her work ethic. Ms. Jordan’s grandmother, who ran a store and a newspaper route, was a significant influence, and following in her footsteps, Ms. Jordan took up delivering newspapers between the ages of 11 and 15. These formative experiences cultivated a strong sense of entrepreneurship that would later define her professional life.
Ms. Jordan’s achievements have earned her recognition throughout her career. In 2021, she was named to the inaugural ODU 40 Under 40 Alumni Recognition Program and won numerous awards at GEICO, including the corporate quality award and excellence in leadership award. Clements Worldwide has also honored her as global employee of the year, and she received a diversity leadership award from the Diversity Leadership Council at Johns Hopkins University.
