Sonia Woolfolk

Sonia Braddy Woolfolk has dedicated her career to caregiving, specializing in the care and support of individuals with diverse needs. Since 2024, she has served as a home tech at Riveredge Behavioral Health, where she ensures the safety and well-being of individuals with substance abuse issues, homicidal tendencies, and psychopathic behaviors, preventing harm to themselves and others. 

Prior to her current role, Ms. Woolfolk held several positions at The Arc Macon, where she began her career in 2005 as a direct support staff member. In 2013, she was promoted to residential supervisor, overseeing two group homes and managing the care of eight individuals until 2021. Her expertise in caregiving was further recognized when she became a case manager in 2021 and later a residential director in 2022, a position she held until 2024. In addition to her work in caregiving, she briefly worked as a trailer truck driver for C.R. England and another trucking company. 

Ms. Woolfolk’s educational background includes earning her general educational development certificate and completing the medical assistant program at the American Professional Institute. She also holds certifications as a licensed practical nurse and a direct support professional, obtained in 2008. Beyond her professional work, she is an active volunteer, participating in initiatives such as feeding the homeless and organizing turkey and sweet potato pie drives during Thanksgiving and Christmas through her church community. 

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Woolfolk has always aspired to become a registered nurse, driven by a deep passion for health care and a desire to assist those in need. Having witnessed her grandparents struggle with dementia and Alzheimer’s, as well as supporting relatives with cancer and other medical conditions, she feels a strong connection to the field. Her ultimate purpose is to help individuals with intellectual disabilities integrate into the community and receive the care they deserve. 

Ms. Woolfolk’s most notable achievement is her unwavering dedication to individuals with intellectual disabilities. She believes that this work requires genuine passion beyond financial incentives, recognizing these individuals as human beings deserving of respect, dignity, and support. Her goal is to ensure they receive the compassion and assistance needed to thrive. 

In recognition of her contributions, Ms. Woolfolk has received numerous accolades, including the Value Employee Award, Outstanding Employee Award, and various employee recognition awards. Looking to the future, she aspires to own a personal care home and plans to further her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health care and business administration. Her ultimate goal is to continue making a positive impact on the lives of those she serves while advancing her career in the health care industry. Outside of her professional endeavors, she is a devoted mother of three children and cherishes spending time with her grandchildren.
