With more than 40 years of practiced experience in management, strategic and operations planning, and quality assurance, Patricia H. Schumaker excels as the president of Schumaker and Company, a management-consulting firm that frequently works with government entities and utility organizations. Prior to establishing her company, she worked in numerous executive roles for ADP Network Services, including as the director of national accounts, the director of the professional services division, a PSD senior manager and consultant, and a PSD technical manager. During the earliest years of her career, Ms. Schumaker gained valuable expertise as an auditor and a consultant for Arthur Andersen.
Due to her considerable expertise as a project management professional, Ms. Schumaker has utilized her knowledge as a lead consultant for the Arizona Public Service Company, Duke Energy Kentucky, Duke Energy Indiana, Nova Scotia Power Incorporated and Pennsylvania Power & Light Company, to name a few. Additionally, she has excelled as an executive consultant, an expert witness and a technical adviser for such companies as El Paso Electric Company, Public Service Company of New Mexico, Central Maine Power Company, West Texas Utilities Company, Cobra/Orwell-Trumbell Pipelines, Verizon New York, ALLTEL Pennsylvania and Commonwealth Telephone Company. In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Schumaker is especially proud of the work interesting projects she has taken on with government entities.
A certified public accountant and management consultant, Ms. Schumaker earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting from the Ohio State University in 1971. Subsequently, she graduated with a Master of Business Administration in operations research from the University of Michigan in 1973. Ms. Schumaker further obtained the designation of a chartered global management accountant.
Ms. Schumaker retains her professional alignment with a number of organizations, including the Institute of Management Consultants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Project Management Institute and the Institute of Management Accountants. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she has contributed to a variety of creative projects, including managing consulting projects with the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and “Incentive Compensation: Does it Work?” in 1994.
