Oana Borcoman, founder, chief executive officer, and chief experience curator of EVOKE: An Experience Agency (EVOKE Experiences, LLC) has built her business on creativity, ambition, and the ability to connect with people. Her company specializes in creating unique experiences, events, promotional products, and branding solutions. She helps clients grow revenue, strengthen relationships, and build customer loyalty through strategic approaches that enhance every aspect of the customer experience.
Ms. Borcoman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston in 2010, graduating summa cum laude. She also completed a minor in marketing from the C.T. Bauer College of Business. She pursued a wine appreciation course, earning her level I sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Her initial plan to work in the hospitality industry, she discovered her true passion for marketing and sales during her studies.
When she was 21 years old, Ms. Borcoman began her career in wine sales for a distributor, managing the central Houston area. Within a year and a half, she significantly grew her sales, an accomplishment that set the stage for her future success. However, she soon realized that the corporate world was not for her, and she pursued event planning and marketing instead. After gaining experience in sales and event planning, she joined a Houston agency specializing in beverage marketing. She worked with high-profile clients such as McCarty, Red Bull, and MillerCoors, handling events and branding initiatives there. This role allowed her to combine her expertise in beverage marketing with her passion for creating memorable experiences.
In 2018, Ms. Borcoman founded EVOKE: An Experience Agency, where she continues to work with beverage clients while expanding to other industries. Her company designs memorable brand experiences, from small activations to large-scale events. She takes pride in transforming her clients’ ideas into realities that resonate with their customers. One of her most notable accomplishments was successfully navigating her business through the COVID-19 pandemic. As events and experiential marketing paused, Ms. Borcoman shifted to promotional products, fulfilling the growing demand for hand sanitizers, masks, and corporate gifts. This strategic measure kept her business going and allowed it to thrive in a challenging environment.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Borcoman is deeply involved in her community. She is a founding board member of Echo 4 Us Foundation and supports various nonprofit organizations, including Heroes for Children. Ms. Borcoman aims to grow EVOKE by expanding her team and stepping away from day-to-day operations to focus on strategic leadership. She hopes to broaden the company’s scope and potentially pursue other business ventures, including starting a nonprofit. Her long-term goal is to achieve financial freedom and explore new opportunities while continuing to create memorable experiences for clients.
