Who's Who of Professional Women

Nicole D. Swain

A 28-year veteran of the banking industry, Nicole Swain is committed to making things happen. One of the highlights of her illustrious career was reaching out to a “Shark Tank” contestant she believed didn’t have the right banker. After watching his episode, she wrote him a Facebook message offering her services. Ms. Swain ended up doing $10 million in business with him.

Today, Ms. Swain is using her tenacity and perseverance in her position as the executive vice president and chief banking officer for First Choice Bank. Her role includes overseeing business development opportunities for both commercial and private banking and providing custom solutions based on her clients’ specific needs. Ms. Swain attributes her ongoing success in this capacity to her ability to understand exactly what the client is seeking. Once she has made the initial contact with a client, she can typically have a Letter of Intent in their hands at the end of the same day. This expedited response is due to the fact that she knows how to streamline the process of approval. It also gives her a competitive edge. During her time at First Choice Bank, she has been able to close multi-million dollar loans for her clients in as little as 48 to 72 hours.

In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Ms. Swain was named one of the Most Influential Lenders in Los Angeles and one of the Most Influential Women in Banking by the LA Business Journal. She hopes to continue making strides in her field moving forward. She really enjoys her job because of her direct client contact.

Outside of her career, Ms. Swain supports the charitable mission of Aviva Women and Children’s Services.
