With a career spanning three decades, Monica M. Woolmer has established a distinguished career in business intelligence and analytics. Since 2024, she has served as an AI industry specialist at Teradata, a leading multi-cloud data platform company enabling organizations to leverage data analytics for business insights and innovation. In this role, she facilitates presentations and demonstrations while collaborating with systems engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to solve customer challenges. Her expertise lies in empowering business decisions by effectively utilizing data assets and analytics-generated insights within organizations.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Woolmer held several significant positions at Teradata. From 2023 to 2024, she was an industry expert in retail, consumer packaged goods, hospitality, and customer experience. She also served as a senior business consultant in Melbourne, Australia, from 2019 to 2023, applying analytics to address complex business challenges. Earlier, as a senior industry consultant from 2013 to 2018, she further refined her skills in leveraging data-driven strategies to deliver impactful solutions for clients.
Ms. Woolmer’s career began at Harris Corporation, where she advanced from programmer to manager between 1984 and 1995. Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, serves government and commercial markets across more than 150 countries. Her transition into data and analytics took a pivotal turn during her tenure as director of IT at Harrah’s Entertainment from 1995 to 2003. At Harrah’s, she was instrumental in developing data and analytics strategies that underpinned the company’s groundbreaking customer loyalty program, significantly contributing to its success. Following this, she served as senior manager of IT at Office Depot from 2003 to 2005, where she further honed her expertise in data-driven solutions. She then worked as a data warehouse consultant at Compas from 2005 to 2007 before co-founding and serving as a managing partner at Formation Data from 2007 to 2013.
Ms. Woolmer laid a strong academic foundation with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in computer and informational science from the University of Florida in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1986. Additionally, she has earned multiple certifications from Teradata, including the ClearScape Analytics Foundations Badge and Cloud Foundations Badge in 2023.
