Miriam R. Hamilton has excelled as the senior director of Americas national, federal procurement, at Jacobs Solutions Inc. since 2025, supervising procurements and compliance, providing software training, managing communication with subcontractors, ensuring regulatory adherence, and translating client requirements into actionable results. Prior to this position, she was briefly appointed as the director of federal procurement at Jacobs in Greenwood Village, Colorado. From 2021 to 2024, Ms. Hamilton was active as the deputy federal procurement director for Jacobs in the Greater Denver Area, where she played a pivotal role in streamlining procurement operations and fostering cross-team collaboration.
During her tenure as senior supervisor for federal procurement at Jacobs from 2015 to 2021, Ms. Hamilton guided her team through the transition from paper-based systems to digital documentation and automated workflows, improving efficiency and enhancing transparency and collaboration among stakeholders. Between 2005 and 2015, she found success as a federal procurement professional at Jacobs, developing deep expertise in contract management and compliance while supporting major government projects.
Before joining Jacobs, Ms. Hamilton worked as project and construction coordinator at DelWest Holdings LLC from 2001 to 2005, focusing on land development and commercial homebuilding projects in the Denver area. Her earlier experience includes serving as a website development consultant and business analyst at Interlink Group Incorporated in 2001. From 1997 to 2001, she honed her skills in project coordination and client relations as an associate project manager at iXL Enterprises Inc. One of Ms. Hamilton’s most formative achievements during this period was overcoming challenges with team dynamics and design preferences to successfully build a pro bono website for the Lupus Foundation of Colorado at the age of 28.
Ms. Hamilton distinguishes herself through a strong commitment to self-awareness and reflective leadership, believing that growth often occurs when navigating unfamiliar territory. Her willingness to embrace discomfort as an opportunity for learning sets her apart as a leader who values both personal development and organizational advancement. Ms. Hamilton’s stellar work was recognized when she received the Small Business Advocate of the Year Award from CH2M HILL INC in 2009.
Ms. Hamilton is proud of her academic background as well, having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English writing from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1994. She further enhanced her practical skill set by completing certification coursework in building business acumen through Acumen Learning in 2022. Influenced by mentors including Kenneth Melchiorre, Jim Thalmann and Sylvia Walker, she continues to value guidance from experienced leaders.
A published poet since her formative years, Ms. Hamilton received the Davenport Poetry Award for her work “The Farmer’s Market” in 1994. Writing poetry remains one of her passions; it serves as both creative expression and a means of bringing order during times of change. She draws inspiration from a family legacy rooted in education, as both her father and sister were teachers who instilled in her an appreciation for knowledge and perspective. Ms. Hamilton is greatly fulfilled by training others at Jacobs Solutions Inc., viewing it as an extension of her family’s tradition of service.
With two decades in federal procurement to her credit, Ms. Hamilton attributes her success to curiosity, collaboration and an understanding of interdisciplinary work, qualities that have allowed her to thrive across diverse sectors for such clients as the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Department of Energy. Looking toward the future, she aims to continue transforming her organization by enhancing efficiency within procurement operations while supporting colleagues in achieving their goals.
