For more than 40 years, MaryLou Swift has thrived as an art dealer. Although she initially went to medical school for two years, Ms. Swift ultimately decided to pursue her passion for business and art. She proceeded to earn a Bachelor of Art from Sarah Lawrence College in 1964, and completed postgraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, New York University Business School, and the New York Institute of Finance, all between 1964 and 1969. Further, she is a registered stockbroker at the New York Stock Exchange and the National Association of Securities Dealers, and she was the recipient of an undergraduate fellowship from the American Museum of Natural History.

Since 1970, Ms. Swift has worked as a private art dealer and consultant specializing in modern and contemporary art, and since 1994, she has headed her own art dealership, Mary Lou Fine Arts in New York. She loves her job, and continues to have her clients’ best interest at heart as she helps them choose pieces that are right for them. In the future, she hopes to increase her private art dealings.

Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Swift held positions in marketing and advertising and on Wall Street. She was an international stockbroker at Mabon Securities in New York, a business and marketing consultant through Mary Lou Swift & Co., and an accountant supervisor in advertising at the New York firms of Rosenfeld Sirowitz Lawson, BBDO, and Cavalieri, Kleier, Pearlman. Additionally, she was a product manager at Fieldcrest Mills, the administrative head of the syndicate department at Drexel Harriman Ripley, and a consultant at Miller Tabak & Co., Inc.

In recognition of her accomplishments in her field, Ms. Swift received the 2017 Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award and is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women.

When she has spare time, Ms. Swift enjoys golf, travel, and learning languages.
