Keeping aware of human behavior since the third grade, Marsha Schroeder, LPC, PLLC, has always had a natural normal way to relate to people and to help people. She feels very comfortable in the job, and she loves it. The first to graduate from college in her family, she sees her career not as a job, but as a vocation. Ms. Schroeder began her professional career as a staff member at St. Helen Catholic School in 1993, remaining in this position for one year before transferring to St. Peter and Paul Catholic School from 1994 to 1999 and St. Stephen Catholic School in Saginaw, Michigan, from 1997 to 2000. During this time, she served as an adjunct faculty member at Delta College in University Center, Michigan, from 1990 to 2005 and therapist with the Catholic Family Service in Saginaw from 1992 to 2010 and Midland, Michigan, from 1999 to 2003. Today, she maintains a private practice, Marsha Schroeder, MA, LPC, PLLC, in East Tawas, Michigan, since 2003.

Prior to the start of her professional career, Ms. Schroeder pursued a formal education at Saginaw Valley State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1985. She then matriculated at Central Michigan University, where she attained a Master of Arts in counseling in 1992 and became a licensed professional counselor in 1993. Ms. Schroeder’s areas of expertise include grief and anger management, marriage and couples counseling, and substance abuse.

Active with the American Counseling Association, Ms. Schroeder was selected for inclusion in the fourth edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the 15th edition of Who’s Who in the World. She enjoys spending her free time swimming, playing tennis, traveling, writing, attending car and racing shows, gardening and horseback riding. She is married to her loving husband of 55 years, Tim Edwin Schroeder, with whom she has raised two wonderful sons, Tim E. II and Steven M. Additionally, she is a doting grandmother to four beloved grandchildren, Meghan, David, Dustin, who is married to Janelle, and Dylan.

The advice that Ms. Schroeder can offer the next generation or others aspiring to work in her profession is that she hopes that they have that need and desire to help people. Her own mentors were in the realm of religion because she had the same religious teacher for three years in a row, Sister Ann Reagan. She was a social worker at the Catholic Family Service and the Visiting Nurses Association, and she worked with her on the grieving area of the field in the 90s. Ms. Schroeder would like to be remembered by her others as someone with high values, who was very honest and responsible. She has a lot of good qualities that she passes on to others because she sees them making changes.
