MAGDA A. MENNER

Magda Menner

Drawn to the field of medicine out of a desire to help people, Magda A. Menner, MICT, began her career as the treasurer for the first aid squad at Rowan University, then known as Glassboro State College, in 1983, a position she held until she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in biological sciences in 1987. Concurrently working as a training officer for the Maplewood First Aid Squad from 1984 to 1995, she also worked per diem for Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center from 1989 to 1997 and as a paramedic for the Clara Maass Medical Center from 1991 to 1997. In 1997, she joined RWJ Barnabas Health as a paramedic and Saint Clare’s Health in a per diem capacity. Holding these positions until 2004 and 2009, respectively, she became the field training officer and preceptor for the Monmouth-Ocean Hospital Service Corporation in 2004.

Remaining with the Monmouth-Ocean Hospital Service Corporation until 2020, Ms. Menner also served as the emergency medical services team concourse coordinator for the Red Bull Arena from 2012 to 2019. Throughout her career, she continued to further her skills in emergency medicine with certifications from the New Jersey State Police, the American Burn Association, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the American Heart Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and more. Furthermore, she achieved a Master of Science in emergency medical services management from Columbia Southern University in 2020. Since then, Ms. Menner has served as a paramedic for the mobile health northern division of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where her duties include ambulance checks to make sure all the equipment and medications are in order along with emergency dispatch.

Holding considerable expertise in emergency response and pre-hospital medicine, Ms. Menner seeks to take her education even further through obtaining a Bachelor of Science in nursing and certification as a registered nurse. In order to keep abreast of developments in her field, she has maintained professional affiliation with a number of industry organizations, including the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. She has additionally been an active member of her community, including serving as a team manager for the Braking AIDS Ride with Global Impact Productions from 2003 to 2020. Ms. Menner has also been closely involved with both the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America for many years and has been a member of the Denville Community Church since 2016.

Attributing much of her success to her upbringing, which taught her the importance of hard work and being willing to do the dirty work, Ms. Menner has made a name for herself through her skill in talking her patients through what is happening. Having learning much throughout her career, she considers the greatest driving force behind her professional growth to simply be how her confidence in herself has grown over the years as she has learned more and developed relationships with doctors. For her excellence, Ms. Menner has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades over the course of her career, such as being inducted into Omega Nu Lambda, the Order of the Sword & Shield and the National Society for Leadership and Success.

Furthermore, Ms. Menner has twice been lauded by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, first with the 20-Year Recognition in 2009 and then again with the 30-Year Recognition in 2019. She is also a two-time recipient of the New Jersey Paramedic Team Excellence Award in 2000 and 2002 and a three-time recipient of the EMS Excellence Award from Hackensack University Medical Center in 1995, 1996 and 1999. Early on, she was named to the dean’s list at Rowan University and received both the Sign of the Arrow and the Sign of the Star from the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. In light of all her accomplishments, Ms. Menner has previously been featured in Cambridge Who’s Who in the Healthcare Industry, the Metropolitan Who’s Who Registry and will be listed in an upcoming edition of Who’s Who of Professional Women.
