M. Torres

M. Torres has built a diverse career across multiple industries, demonstrating her versatility and leadership. For more than a decade, she has excelled as the chief executive officer, operations manager, and small business owner of Torres Fine Art, where she has cultivated a thriving enterprise specializing in photography and consulting. In addition to this, she is on the consulting staff for GLG and provides business consulting services through Torres & Co., both based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ms. Torres’ dedication to community engagement is evident in her role as acting executive director of Ballet Folklorico Tierra Mestiza, where she promotes cultural appreciation through dance. Since 2016, she has also contributed to the Linde Oktoberfest as a co-cap bartender, showcasing her commitment to varied endeavors.

Ms. Torres’ career journey includes significant roles in the hospitality industry. She has served as head bartender and server at Brookside By Day since 2012 and was a bartender at VFW Post 577 from 2018 to 2020. Her professional experience includes a tenure at TSS Photography from 2014 to 2016 and early work as a sales specialist at the T-Mobile Phone Zone in 2013. Highlighting her commitment to education and professional development, Ms. Torres became involved with the Pro Prints Educator Program in 2022.

Outside of her primary professional roles, Ms. Torres is an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network, Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Oklahoma, and Verizon Small Business Digital Ready. Her literary accomplishments include contributing to the three-volume series “Empire of Missed Chances.” Throughout her career, Ms. Torres’ professional excellence has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, including receiving the Innovation and Excellence Award from Corporate Live Wire in 2024 and being recognized as the best fine art wedding photographer in Oklahoma in 2024.

Ms. Torres laid a strong academic foundation to prepare for her career path, earning an associate of applied sciences in liberal arts and sciences from Tulsa Community College in 2015. She holds several certifications, including the recreational UAS safety test completion certificate from Drone U and an advanced leadership certification from the National Society of Leadership and Success. Committed to giving back to her community, Ms. Torres supports the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center and continues to actively direct Ballet Folklorico Tierra Mestiza.

Ms. Torres is a devoted mother who enjoys hiking, biking, and other activities with her son. Looking forward, she envisions a dynamic path, beginning with earning an additional certification from the National Society of Leadership and Success, which she believes will help her bring meaningful changes to her local area through the successful implementation of a community project. She aspires to expand this initiative by integrating it into major universities where she has built strong relationships.

Committed to furthering her education, Ms. Torres plans to pursue a master’s degree. With a steadfast dedication to making a difference, she aims to continue her role as an educator, focusing on creating opportunities for underprivileged children. Through her efforts, she hopes to establish scholarships that will provide children with access to education, empowering them to achieve their dreams and build a brighter future.
