After several decades as a professional in the area of human resources, Linda H. Brooke retired from her last role as vice president of human resources for the National Audubon Society in 2007. The organization was created to “conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the Earth’s biological diversity.” This is a cause Ms. Brooke feels strongly about, so she was thrilled to be able to use her expertise to make a difference.
Prior to that position, Ms. Brooke worked primarily in the financial service sector in New York City. Her positions included vice president of human resources (HR) for Sunkyong America, vice president of HR for Creditanstalt, and vice president of HR and subsidiary liaison and director of affirmative action for Chemical Bank. Her early HR experience was in recruitment and affirmative action for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Additionally, she worked as placement director for M. David Lowe in Houston, where she was also an administrative assistant at Cameron Iron Works and a buyer trainee at Foley’s.
Ms. Brooke prepared for her career by earning a bachelor of science from the University of Tennessee. She enjoys giving back to her community, as she is affiliated with both the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Redeemer Presbyterian Church, where she serves as a deaconess. As a testament to her hard work and dedication to her profession, Ms. Brooke was featured in Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women.
