Prolific artist Kerry Kaye Davies is a painter, photographer, and writer through her eponymous venture Kerry Kaye. Born to a family of artists, she has always maintained a deep love for creative pursuits yet did not initially pursue her art as a serious career. As a child, she began painting with acrylics under the direction of her mother. After graduating from Simi Valley High School in California in 1986, Mrs. Davies completed coursework in the arts at the New York Institute of Photography, where she was an award-winning photographer, and at the University of California, Los Angeles, better known as UCLA.
Mrs. Davies has been lauded for her photography work “Moving On” in 2016. She also has been featured and interviewed in various publications, including Press Enterprise, a daily newspaper published in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Moreover, her exceptional work has been repeatedly included in Three Rivers newspapers as well as in Marquis Who’s Who Millennium Magazine. In more recognition of her professional success, she has been honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been named a Marquis Who’s Who Top Artist and a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leader. Alongside her success as an artist and overall creative person, she is the co-owner of At Melrose in Temecula, California, where she deals in vintage furniture and antiques.
Known for her portraits, landscapes, and traditional fine arts knowledge, Mrs. Davies also has expertise in printmaking, murals, artistic composition, design, and uniquely using Adobe Photoshop. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she discovered oil paints as a better alternative to acrylics for creating realistic paintings. While she enjoys the recognition she receives for her art, Mrs. Davies considers raising her three sons and helping them through their college educations to be her most important achievement. They have each achieved their own success in various fields, including engineering, physics, and real estate. After her children grew up to become independent adults, Mrs. Davies refocused her efforts on her own endeavors, which chiefly include painting and writing.
Much of Mrs. Davies’ work focuses on painting through mixed media, yet she has additionally involved herself with novel writing groups in Los Angeles, California, assisting other artists in this arena to develop novels and scripts. Currently, she is writing a historical fiction novel based on a true story involving the history and experiences of her family from Santa Barbara, California, and is incorporating illustrations to accompany her written work. Conversely, Mrs. Davies is especially interested in the reverse: incorporating her writing into her painting.
Adjacent to her professional roles, Mrs. Davies is an active member of her community. She has been affiliated with numerous arts organizations, including the Riverside Community Arts Association, the Redlands Community Arts Association, and the Riverside Arts Museum. Further, she has maintained affiliation with The Ancient and Mystical Order Rosæ Crucis, a community of mystics and metaphysical explorers. She is also an active member of the Masonic Philosophical Society.
Still, part of Mrs. Davies’ primary passion is her devotion to assisting other artists. She endeavors to work with burgeoning creatives, including writers, to help them achieve their goals and realize their potential. Pondering the future, she expects to see her paintings in galleries, where she hopes her work will inspire others. On the writing side, Mrs. Davies has multiple manuscripts in progress, including a book, and looks forward to completing and publishing her current project. She believes that things come to those who are ready to receive them.
Stressing the importance of accepting change, Mrs. Davies has always managed many simultaneous ventures to support her creative cravings. She sees life as a constant state of learning, exploring questions, seeking to use her knowledge to help others, contributing to the greater good of humanity, and subscribing to the adage, “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.”
